It's all complete bullsh*t and posturing. That explains our side anyway, not sure about the French (have they got elections coming up or summin)?

Remember all the posturing to play to the Tory chest thumping nationalist base around the EU Ambassador a couple of months ago. It was quietly announced yesterday ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-57002735) that he of course got full diplomatic status/rights. This fishing malarky will end up the same. It's an opportunity to fire up their base now, but ultimately we'll behave differently and reach a compromise.

It's like we're living in 2 parallel political worlds simultaneously - one fantasy world controlled by the Tory PR machine just for public consumption and then another one where different things really happen.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

I did read that the US was putting a bit of pressure on us to recognise the EU ambassador. Strangely, the pro-govt elements of the press didn't report this.
