Norwood in for a shock? 18:26 - May 7 with 3111 viewschrismakin

Doesnt see 11 out 11 in

I'd very very surprised if we havent moved a large majority of our first team squad much much more than just 11 players. We lose 6 in theory back to their parent clubs to begin with.

So you expect us to keep a maximum of 4 players?

KVY, Nydam, Norwood plus one of Downes or Dozzell?

....and not a single other player?

Closer to 60 if you count everyone......but then you are into the likes of Simpson and Baggott and others who are likely to still be here (in the U23) next season.

My point was that there will be a huge turnover, but even by your own maths 25% of the first team squad will remain.....not 10%.

Based on selection in recent weeks it looks like we're at least trying to resign Edwards (personally id be getting rid). Like to see us keep Bishop and assume the majority of contracted players will stay.

I can see more of the u23s going and u18s.
To many at that age where they should be banging on the first team door. Folami etc already been released. Could be more.

No I appreciate that I wasnt being specific. Just in general meant it will be a massive exodus of players. So surprised if he really does see it being so small

Agreed.

When Hurst came in we had 20 in, including loans. All for the 1st team. And as best as I can make out 10 first teamers out (plus about another 7 or 8 fringe/U23s released).

This summer is going to be more extreme than that by the looks of it.

So when you say 90% you do not actually mean 90% then?

I think he was just giving the safe answer. Doesn't want to bury his mates and if more end up staying than he thought he was on the right side.

Truly impaired.

I'm not sure mate. He offered that he wasnt asked how many he thought it would be.

I think they'll be some shocks coming up.

I'm still not 100% sure even nors is safe despite 1 year left. And pc quick to confirm nors as captain due to be the most senior player out there. I dunno. Still really unsure with nors as a pc player.

I was actually wondering if Cook is setting him up for an ''epic bantz '' on a scale of high cruelty and getting shot of him as he has been so vocal (Norwood) these last few days and all cocky with his goals in meaningless games when failing all season.

Clearly has a lot of loyalty to his teammates though. He's going to defend them and try and push the narrative that it was bad luck and not crap players who caused our issues.

Oh if course which I'd expect. Hes right with footballers not being different to normal people. So I'd expect him to speak like that. Same as I would about my colleagues in a redundancy situation.

For town tho. For us to go forward we cant get emotional and need to trim the squad of absolutely everyone that cant so what we need of them.

Hurst didnt sign 20 players in one window.

6 permanent signings and 6 loans

yes and its worth remembering what every pundit on here said when Hurst did that, as in you cant bring that many players into a squad and expect to form a decent team to hit the ground running when the season starts.

Im expecting Cook to be far more circumspect in player transfers in this respect about which players he brings in and ships out, even if he gets rid of the deadwood in his view. think about it you bring in a bunch of players on 2-3 year contracts, then like Hursts signings you are stuck with them if they dont work out

I dont think for once Norwood is wrong on this.
