A few weeks ago Paul Cook said 19:04 - May 10 with 2383 views | GlasgowBlue | something along the lines of the players who were letting him down and didn't want to be at the club would get their wish when the season was over. Those word don't seem to tally with the players that have been released today.

I don't think those words could be levelled at any of the released players.

A few weeks ago Paul Cook said on 19:10 - May 10 with 2194 views | BlueyandCrazy | Not necessarily; - there will be others in contract or even extended today who may be moved on - most of those released are the senior pros, so whilst respecting their past service, this is consistent with Cook looking to change the culture and mentality at the club

Chambers, Skuse, Wilson, Sears, Nydam, Huws Judge, Ward. Some of those players well past their best. Others injury prone. Huws aside, everyone of those plyers gave 100% during Cook's time here. Whether they played well or not you couldn't accuse any of them as getting their wish by being released.

There’s almost 4 months before the end of the transfer window, it’ll look a lot different by then

It might have been referring to some players still in contract, loans, or to some of those who had already gone before today.

The clubs PR team is quite different from Paul Cook. The clubs PR have rightly given Skuse and Chambers a bit of a proper goodbye. They probably should have with Sears also. However, Cook may well think that Chambers and Skuse may not want to be here any longer with his changes coming in. That's not an unreasonable assumption given their two guys closer to 40 then 20 and won't be playing much longer and the pace of game we're going to be aiming for doesn't suit either of them.

Freddie Sears came on at Gillingham and made two howlers to set Gillingham away for two and has been poor in every appearance he’s made. Skuse was woeful at Fleetwood although coming back from injury but barely featured afterwards. Huws has been absent for 5-months, Ward slow and well off the pace and even guilty of turning his back on the ball in games. The list goes on but it’s clear there’s a bunch who have ran their race and either need a fresh start or just have no appetite any more.

A few weeks ago Paul Cook said on 20:43 - May 10 with 1542 views | eireblue | Think of it as telling an underperforming sales and marketing team “You're all a bunch of c**ts” Then turning it around to produce a better response from some of them a bit later on.
Well chambo and ward had had shockers... on 20:55 - May 10 with 1424 views | unstableblue | ...let the team down... And had been benched.... And they've gone. Sears had one game where, for a senior pro, he completely let the side down Judge missed a sitter in a crucial game...and has generally not grabbed games since Cook has arrive he's a senior pro he's gone.. Who did you think Cook was referring to? Toto would be perhaps the other senior pro, who made significant errors, but he also stood out and performed. Wilson has not been playing, but is 32 and has had injuries. Huws just not in the picture gone. I'm surprised on Nydam because I do think he's looked lively. Jackson is also a surprise - albeit he did feed sears/judge for them to only fluff their lines! Drinan I personlly think did a lot of things right.

A few weeks ago Paul Cook said on 21:17 - May 10 with 1250 views | Mach_foreignBlue | Why don't these words seem to tally? Let"s come back to the two specific games (Plymouth, Fleetwood) and Cook's words that the mood in the changing room is the same regardless of results. 8 players (inc. loanees) who were involved in these two games have gone. Might be more if Edwards departs or there are some bids come summer. Sears though not involved in these too gone two and he had had a shocker at Gillingham a few days earlier. Plus we'll almost certainly sign a new goalkeeper. Therefore it doesn't look that bad. [Post edited 10 May 2021 21:18]

A few weeks ago Paul Cook said on 21:22 - May 10 with 1189 views | Trequartista | He could only have meant the loan players - all the ones that have been released were either not in the side or Ward who he praised for his professionalism.
