And, yet, they don't seem to have adequately replaced him as evidenced by their clown-car season. Imagine how much they re spunking per week on forwards.

There was a story about an unnamed Champoionship club who had to offer a couple of players they didn't want new contracts to extend stays purely to amortise their transfer fees over a longer period to nit fail FFP........you won't need two guesses to work out who that was

He was a passenger and left unconcious, and his team mates were both driving while over the limit. "The car crash happened after a team-bonding day. Lawrence was over the drink-drive limit and so was Mason Bennett, now of Millwall, who had driven off ahead. When Bennett stopped his car at a give-way line, Lawrence went into the back of him before careering into the lamppost. They fled the scene, leaving Keogh unconscious." Of course we all know if comes down to transfer value rather than morals though.

Nice of them to leave a team mate unconscious in the car.

Think it says it all about the current ownership at Derby to be honest.

All involved should be held to account, Keogh must have known they were over the limit and has to take responsibility for getting in the car in the car in the first place but you can't then pick and choose who you can dismiss for the same offence, esp when the one you do sack (legally At least)is the one least culpable.. Derby saw a away to get an older and well paid player off the wage bill

It is also very possible he didn’t know they were over the limit, in which case it was a shocking decision.

This, from what I recalled Keogh wrecked his knee in the crash and was expected to be out of action for a good while and didn't have the asset value of the others. So they pinned the blame on Keogh as club captain and axed him. While the others who were equally culpable and some would argue more so didn't face the same treatment. Despicable behaviour from the Club and glad to see Keogh win his case. For those of you questioning his wages he did do well for Derby prior to this and I seem to recall posters here wanting him to join us.

Brian Clough was a drinker. When I say "drinker" I mean Olympic standard drinker.
