Amazing what you can achieve when you actually use people who know what they're doing rather than shoving a few billion at your incompetent mates who have achieved nothing apart from once running a whelk stall into the ground. [Post edited 12 May 2021 15:58]

Just had 1st Jab at Gainsborough on 14:21 - May 12 with 2003 views | Sparky85 | Got mine at Ivry Street on Saturday. Was shocked as had a text this morning and called them expecting to be in a long call queue or wait weeks for a slot. I was on hold for about a minute and they said come down Saturday We really have shown how its done when it comes to vaccine rollout. Such an important thing to get right

You must be a similar age to me (same birth year guessing by the username!) as I had the same text yesterday and booked in for Friday - like you nice and speedy, hopefully the same will apply on the day!

Just had 1st Jab at Gainsborough on 14:27 - May 12 with 1988 views | stringy | what is being given/offered at the moment, AstraZeneca, Pfizer? Reason I ask is that I got my first jab in Canada last month (AZ) but hoping to get second one at home in July as here the gap is 4 months, and as of yesterday Ontario halted AZ use. Latest press seems to suggest a mixture of products might actually be beneficial, though to be honest I don't want to overthink this, just want to be double dosed

I had Moderna here in Ipswich, but it was sectioned off in two parts, so the other side was AZ second doses.

Been told Pfizer on mine for Friday - so presumably depends on the location etc

That's why I decided on today, if any roughness arrives hopefully I should be fine by the weekend. So far so good, only grown a tail and half a wing...

Don’t make any plans for at least 24 hours. Although you youngsters will probably be ok.

Ahh, I done mine through the NHS website and was only given booking ref. Sounds like going forward everyone will be given Pfizer or Moderna for their 1st jab.

Hugely encouraging for getting on with normal life at some point too. I'm just waiting on my invite for my second jab, getting a bit close to 12 weeks though.

Did you not book your 2nd jab at the same time as your 1st? Mine auto booked the 2nd jab.

No, this was a link by text from UCLH and the same link tells people expecting a second jab that they would be contacted after around 9-10 weeks. I'll follow up if I've heard nothing by this weekend.

is Pfizer what you had the first time round? Interested to know if there remains a commitment (or ever was one) to duplicating your first shot?
Just had 1st Jab at Gainsborough on 15:57 - May 12 with 1703 views | JakeITFC | I had my second jab on Monday and think I spent a combined 12 minutes total in the vaccine place (Aqua Pharmacy on duke street for both), with 10 of those being mandatory waiting times to make sure I had no immediate after effects. Brilliantly efficient process.

Yes, I think so. There have been some minor studies of mixing vaccines but I don't think they showed much definitively. Given the variation in types of vaccines and thus exactly how they work mRNA (Pfizer/Moderna) and viral vector (AZ) then not sure mixing the two types is going to help. Not sure what happens to anyone who had 1 AZ dose but is no outside the guidelines though.

Here in Portugal I got AZ but second jab is 12 weeks I've been ok so far but my partner had side effects after around 5 hours, it was 27 degs but she was freezing she got into bed with duvet blanket dressing gown and hot water bottle it lasted a couple of hours but she's ok now. Someone good me you have to have both jabs in the same country I don't know how true that is. [Post edited 12 May 2021 16:15]
