Not overly concerned about this. I'm sure he'd have been a good signing but there's part of me that is sceptical about a 29 year-old playing regularly in the Championship being willing to drop down to League 1.
I think we do need to have a bit of realism, we may well be linked with some established Championship players and we may have the finances to compete, but most players worth their salt wouldn't want to swap regular Championship football for at least a season in League 1.
If we get players from higher level teams they're either going to have been out of favour/injured, on the slide, or young and somewhat unproven at anything above this level. Guys like Connolly look more realistic targets at the minute, though whether he's a huge upgrade on Woolf as a CB is up for debate. |  |

It's a concern given that the next level down of targets will mainly be inferior players to those we are (rightly, in many cases) bombing. | |
