As I said I have no accounting experience, but I would have expected to see salary under the expenses section and then have a balance brought forward entry with the final balance then simply net income added to balance brought forward. Purely my viewpoint from a non-accountant background! | | | |

Obviously can't validate your inputs, and it's not typical that cash would flow in and out of a business so consistently by month (that's one of the benefits of maintaining a cash flow forecast, vs. a P&L forecast). Its concerned with inflows and outflows as cash, rather than accounting for revenues & costs in the periods to which they relate (accrual accounting). i.e. you might pay £1,200 for an annual subscription, your P&L would show £100 a month, but the reality is the cash might all go out in Jan for example.
But, assuming your numbers and the timings of the inflows & outflows is correct, the layout looks fine. Would perhaps consider the descriptions i.e. 'opening balance' and 'closing balance' might be more typical than 'start of month' or 'end of month', but if it's clear what it is then that's fine. Would probably use 'net cash change' instead of 'net income' too. I'm a pedant. |  |

Also, with zero expenditure on food, you've starved!
Why is salary (presumably an income) right down at the bottom. It's not apparent how the six bottom rows all fit together. It should be all income at the top, then subtotalled. Then all expenses, again subtotalled. Then just income minus expenses at the bottom, with the final row being 'balance c/f to next month'. It's also not clear where the £700.02 comes from or what's being added together or subtracted. |  |

This is a small part of a business plan - the most I know about business plans is when Claud rips them apart on the Apprentice. He'd probably be too disgusted to even comment on the one we're doing, but never mind - deadline is midnight tonight, so for better or worse, it's going to be over by then. Fosters-power will fuel the night ahead.
Edit: Its frustrating as Mrs Ullaa, talented bod she is, was looking at a First on any module of musical nature, but only just - this could knock her down to a 2:1 - A fecking business plan in a music degree!!! grr!!
