Gorgeous Bird Of Prey 15:28 - May 30 with 1042 viewsChondzoresk

Driving between Acle and Filby, Norfolk today I got some beautiful views of a lone Marsh Harrier. I was driving at the time, so no photos, but my god it made my day. Anyone else seen any interesting wildlife or bird life today?

Haven’t been for ages, due to a knackered knee. Good haul there though.

Our local short toed eagle was gliding overhead while I bbqed the prawns at lunchtime today. I have golden orioles nesting in the garden - but for brilliantly coloured birds they are very difficult to see. Nice song though.

Nothing beats the Owl as a thing of beauty.

I haven’t seen a Golden Oriole since 1998, Leeks Hill, Melton. They are fantastically coloured birds. I have never seen a short toed Eagle, I assume you are on mainland Europe.

I did not know marsh harriers could drive. Marvellous stuff.

You learn something new and all that.

Yes, it always lifts your day when you spot bit of wildlife doesn't it.

There's a fox using my patch as a run often at night, but I've yet to see him myself. I've heard him a few times as he uses a bunker outside my window as a leg up over the wall.

Apart from that, I saw a pigeon earlier.

Poll: Xmas dinner: Yorkshires or not?

Was on a bike ride near Rougham a couple of days ago and a Tawny rose from a tree just in front of me and ghosted it's way up the road. Magical.

Lovely. I hear fish eagles are being reintroduced to the wash area? Got peregrines within 400m of my flat here up north
