Our local short toed eagle was gliding overhead while I bbqed the prawns at lunchtime today. I have golden orioles nesting in the garden - but for brilliantly coloured birds they are very difficult to see. Nice song though. | |

I haven’t seen a Golden Oriole since 1998, Leeks Hill, Melton. They are fantastically coloured birds. I have never seen a short toed Eagle, I assume you are on mainland Europe. | | | |

Yes, it always lifts your day when you spot bit of wildlife doesn't it.
There's a fox using my patch as a run often at night, but I've yet to see him myself. I've heard him a few times as he uses a bunker outside my window as a leg up over the wall.
