I do think recently that a bit of a bullying culture has developed on here. It's a bit ugly to be honest.
Nothing wrong with joking and having a debate, but there are some on here who attack everything certain posters on here say, regardless of whether they agree with it or not. And that's a bit crap.
I'm not part of any #BeKind movement but maybe think for second about the person on the recieving end of your 'witty retort'. Some people have a pretty low threshold after a lot of time locked indoors with the pandemic, especially ones with pre-existing mental health issues. Maybe think about how you word it, it doesn't take more than an extra minute.
We all support the same team after all. COYB!

There has been bullying in one form or another on this site since the late 90s. I’ve flounced and left this site numerous times over the years due to &rseholes on here but unfortunately there just isn’t another site for people to migrate too.
This is it a dig at anyone, it’s just a society played out on a message board.
People don’t use the ignore button as much as they should. Instead they repeatedly post negative messages on threads where people are just trying to discuss their favourite topic in the world.
People need to stop and understand that everyone is different. I was guilty of reply first think later in the past but as I mature I stop and think that much more. |  | | |

I don't think there's bullying on here. I do think people can certainly be overly harsh in how they respond to others on occasion, and posters react in different ways to that.
BlueWorldOrder was obviously upset by a post earlier, but it wasn't the case that a number of users went after him or anything like that. And I removed the post when I was informed of it and spoke to the person concerned. It's also worth adding that the post was very tame, nothing nasty, just a negative comment on his post.
As per a number of other threads, not relating to BWO. There does seem to be a habit among a group of users to post something contentious, then fail to give any argument when that's challenged by other posters before claiming they're being bullied when they continue to be challenged by a number of other users. If you're going to post something contentious, then I don't think it's unfair for posters to expect to be challenged to present an argument.

I brought it to your attention that i was being cyber bullied by a group of posters
The response was bascially it's my fault for wanting to discuss players rumoured on social media to be linked.
I did not start rumours of players. Just posted what a few that was being discussed
Having looked back I started only 2 new threads on player link rumours.. the rest were replies to other peoples OP's.
The latest cyber attack on me was because I said I wouldnt believe a posters source. Not the poster but their source.
I've been off the site since my last post.. and counted 7 threads where people have brought my name into it.
And on the day of my last post. There were 8 posts about me before I'd even logged on.
So yes there is a bullying group on here. But no 1 moderating is interested. |  |

To be honest, when your last avatar was of an American flag burning, you're not all that unfamiliar with provoking a reaction yourself.
If you really want to see bullying on TWTD you would have had to be around in the day when board members had their wedding photos posted on here by others.. Now that's bullying [Post edited 3 Jun 2021 18:02]

I'm pretty sure I've been on this site for a fairly long time. I used to go the teamtalk site back in early 90s, and then moved onto this one when it started (I think).
The burning American Flag was when it looked like the Takeover had gone away and it looked like the deal was going up in smoke. Frustration fuelled. I think didn't bother to change it and people asked stupid questions about it and made foolish assumptions about it so I gave them asinine answers. No problem there.
And I have NO problem with anyone provoking a reaction. Especially if it highlights something that is up for debate, like whether Paul Cook is the right man for the job. Or whether our coaches are experienced enough. Etc. That is part of what a football fan site is for I would argue. I would say that I don't think it should be used to routinely 'go after' someone expressing their opinion.
And just too add. I remember when this board had characters who if anything fulfilled the role of 'pantomine villians'. Newmarket Blue being one. Belsted Bill being another. I seem to remember the majority of the interaction with them was humourous and they were tolerated without people becoming vitriolic. Could be my rose tinted glasses, but that's how I remember it. Just to clarify, that first bit is certainly true. I'm not naming names, but I did have a PM three days ago from a very long standing poster, a very well liked poster (unlike me) who said he won't be coming back because the forum has been made unusable (his words, not mine).
Like I said, I'm not naming names, but eventually someone will say "whatever happened to Mr. X?" and I'll you lot will never know*. Happy to discuss with Phil via PM if anyone doubts the validity of what I'm saying.

It becomes unusable because a post turns into argument for no reason. That dobra post for example was done. Old. Then suddenly brought back up and tbem turned into 2 more pages of me trying to defend myself because you wanted to bring up the 1 night I had a mini rant about Drinan and apologised for from weeks ago.
I was asked to reduce my new threads. I did.
I also reduced amount of posting replies still high numbers yes but still reduced them. It wasnt me looking to start arguments.. all I want is to discuss itfc. But posters like yourself decided you sidnt. And then push the blame on to me and others instead of holding your hands up and saying actually I went to far or sorry i took the thread in the wrong direction.
Anyway I'll leave it there. But seeing the OPs post it made it right for me to make my point.
