I do think recently that a bit of a bullying culture has developed on here. It's a bit ugly to be honest.
Nothing wrong with joking and having a debate, but there are some on here who attack everything certain posters on here say, regardless of whether they agree with it or not. And that's a bit crap.
I'm not part of any #BeKind movement but maybe think for second about the person on the recieving end of your 'witty retort'. Some people have a pretty low threshold after a lot of time locked indoors with the pandemic, especially ones with pre-existing mental health issues. Maybe think about how you word it, it doesn't take more than an extra minute.
We all support the same team after all. COYB!

Whether you denied Covid or otherwise you talked about "acceptable deaths" knowing that posters on here have lost family members. Thought that was pretty unpleasant.
And I agree with Kropotkin on the other matters, the thread re BLM this morning being a case in point.

i do think this has got a lot worse during the pandemic. there's a group who seem to have become angrier and are using the board as a sort of group therapy - they post stuff repetitively, agree with each other more and more fervently, and attack the same people again and again. i hope it's working for them, but it's pretty much killed the discussion and humour that the board used to be good at. |

I would never have used the term ‘plan demic’. That simply did not happen.
Regarding the ‘acceptable deaths’ comment I was talking about Covid reverting to an acceptable level of deaths and had actually taken the words directly from
Chris Whitty. He was saying that Covid will never completely go away, it will become like flu and will revert to being a season disease that, yes, sadly kills people but this is at a level (numbers wise) that is deemed ‘acceptable’ by society and doesn’t necessitate lock downs. At the time I accepted I may have phrased things insensitively and thought everyone had accepted that. Not sure why it’s come up again now. |  |

Trump, Biden...anything there can possibly be to be disagreeable about.
It's been a constant barrage of bollox for over a year and it's exhausting.
And I am tired of these people who haven't a clue saying ignore it.
I have, for 12 months. The idiot follows posters about down-voting anything remotely pro-Biden, pro-immigration, pro-Foreign Aid, pro-BLM, Anti-racist...absolutely anything that doesn't fit in with his vitriolic views on life.

Would you care explain what contentious posts I made.
I brought it to your attention that i was being cyber bullied by a group of posters
The response was bascially it's my fault for wanting to discuss players rumoured on social media to be linked.
I did not start rumours of players. Just posted what a few that was being discussed
Having looked back I started only 2 new threads on player link rumours.. the rest were replies to other peoples OP's.
The latest cyber attack on me was because I said I wouldnt believe a posters source. Not the poster but their source.
I've been off the site since my last post.. and counted 7 threads where people have brought my name into it.
And on the day of my last post. There were 8 posts about me before I'd even logged on.
So yes there is a bullying group on here. But no 1 moderating is interested. |
I don’t really see an issue with what you post, I do feel you have been quite contradictory at times with regards to Cook etc, but at the end of the day I also have a life outside of this place and whilst I do spend a great deal of my time on it, I try not get too hung up on it.
My only slight gripe with yourself is posting tweets on here from the likes of ‘EFL HUB 456373’ with 1 follower stating we’re signing every man and his dog from Barcelona (I know that’s an exaggeration, but you get my drift).

I was "debating" this with you and you firstly mentioned acceptable deaths in regards to older people if we simply just opened up everything and you followed it up with this exact phrase when I pointed out exactly what would happen if we did that:

But.. using myself as an example. The other night I was compared to that of a poster known for beating a 2 month old baby to death. All because I like to post about ipswich player rumours and discuss them. To me that is incredibly horrible. Alongside I then continued to have yourself. Jeera. Herbs etc have a go because to you I didnt believe Joe. Despite me advising it was the source I didnt believe.
Then when I bring up my feelings of being targeted you all say you all feel the same that I posted to much.. despite that not even being what you were having a go at me over...
Me and you spruce have had some good debates. But they are great when we are debating a view. For some reason you began to turn every debate into bringing up previous posts that had nothing to do with the view I was having with you.
I'm all for understanding what you guys dont want me to do.. hence I reduced the daily new threads. I also reduced the number if replies I put in. But this wasnt good enough. Regarding cook. I think personally I've been quite clear on PC. I posted 1 thing 1 time about him as an anger post on drinans renewal but other than that I dont think theres been anyone close to being more Pro PC than me. To the annoyance of others. | |

Rather than people disagreeing with this, I think it is worth taking a step back and questioning if people are living up to their own standards.
CM doesn't deserve the reaction he gets, he's just passionate about Ipswich. If it is too much for some of you, then it is time to draw a line under it and place him on ignore, as this isn't fair. [Post edited 3 Jun 2021 23:00]

He's had a robust reaction for what seemed to be an implication that Joe made up his information- and once that robust reaction was out there-the poo hit the turbine.

But creating a post advising of a player link isnt starting a rumour its relating info seen and if the player involved would be a good signing if such link was true. That is so different than myself creating a player link.
Regarding joe.. I did say in that specific thread that it wasnt joe I didnt believe it was the source. Which surely anyone is in their rights to believe or not. That was not implying joe was lieing.
So whilst I appreciate you open yourself up depending on what you post I dont see what harm either of the above does to welcome the directness from some posters.
I saw posts for example this morning about a player link. No mention of where from just player name.
Not 1 of you questioned the poster or moaned at his post. It had what was intended... a discussion on the player. | |
