What happens if we don't get many more new players? 10:19 - Jun 17 with 3494 viewsITFC_96

And all the existing players have been told to leave and have been shown they are unwanted at the club?

It's been essentially 3 weeks since the window opened, and like a month and a half that we have been able to negotiate for players. There are still a massive amount to bring in if apparently we are only keeping 10% of the current players. Remember that the pre-season is basically only 3 weeks away too.

Norwich have lost their best player, the club stated that they will spend this year, yet no signings yet, don't see many budgies wetting the bed.

The Euro's is on, and whilst it's not our market, we need to wait for the domino/shuffle affect to take place further up the chain, especially if we're shopping in the league above.

the latest koa podcast was good on this, they expect a lot to happen late on as players realise that wages won't be what they're used to.

at the moment, it's holidays, it's euros, it's quiet. things will happen later as they always do.

the clear-out is likely to be heavily overstated too, expect a "clean slate" style statement from cook before the season starts.

as the new fitness guy has stated, lots of players are already back starting the new routines, that kind of attitude change is what cook will want to see. they wouldn't be doing it if they knew they were leaving

Well, we have two players. Add Dyer, Cook in midfield, Jeffers up front, Pullen in goal, Roberts on the wing. Butcher at centre half. I’m sure Mavis the tea lady can put a shift in on the other wing and the other two positions and subs filled by the rest of the coaching staff. Sorted!

It's an incredibly risky tactic that we have employed. I'd say keep your fingers crossed.

Even more risky to retain people who have got us to the heady heights of 9th and 11th in League One following relegation without a fight. Where exactly is the risk?

Teams take time to build. Nobody at the club is saying it, but i suspect they are happy to write off next season as a transitional one.

I don't think this is realistically the danger, is it?

The danger is that we miss out on our main targets and end up having to add players who weren't what we really wanted, too late in the Summer to drill them into something greater than the sum of their parts.

Personally I don't think any of Cooks target's have gone except possibly Bradley
Don't believe we was interested in Stockley or Power to be honest he wanted Evans and got even though championship clubs interested.

I actually think the reverse might happen, I think quite a few players will get a wake up call over the next couple of weeks and end up readjusting expectations. If we stick to our guns I think we are in prime position to pick up a few that currently expect to be playing in the Championship next year.

Less than 4 weeks to the start of the Pre-season games. I apricate a lot of deals are done during the pre season games right up to the window closing, however 2 months is not long to get in 6 -8 quality players never mind getting then to gel, particularly when your competitor's are looking to strengthen during the same window.

I'm only hoping PC must of had a list of possible/certain players that he is confident he could get over the line before putting virtually the entire team on notice that they didn't feature in his plans for ITFC going forward. Fingers Crossed

We’ll simply ask Holland, Dyer, Warky, Stewart and a few others to dig out their boots.
Any of them would still be able to offer more than 90% of last season’s wasters.
