Junior Blues - question for parents 12:48 - Jun 17 with 735 viewsEiffel78

What's the best age to get little ones signed up for the Junior Blues / Foals? I was looking at the Foals membership for my boy but, at 13 months, don't think he'd get much out of it and I'd be better off buying a replacement for his already tatty (and much loved) Bluey. I'm already a season ticket holder, he's not going to be going to matches any time soon and neither is my wife, and the match tickets and first game add ons seem to be the big draws. What age did other people's little ones appreciate their memberships?

At moments like this the Newcastle Junior Magpies story is worth relating:

'Good morning. Newcastle Junior Magpies. How may I help you?'

[You'll have to imagine the broad Geordie accent]
'Why-aye bonny lass. I wanna put my new bairn in the Junior Magpies.'

'Congratulations. Is this a little boy or a little girl Magpie?'

'I dinnae know yet bonny lass. Only its head is out so far.'

I have 2. The oldest got to be a JB when he could go to games. The new one might get one now as it’s a free set of tickets for the rest of us.

We took Yasmin with us to the ticket office to get her first season ticket at 2 days old… only to be told we needed to have registered her birth to prove she existed, despite the fact I was carrying her in my arms at the time… so we had to wait until she was 4 days old to get it.

She had a name check from Rob Chandler announcing her as being one of Town’s youngest fans at her first game!

My boy was born at 11:51pm. I left the hospital about 3:30am. They told me I wasn’t allowed back in until 10am. At 9:30am I was at ITFC and he was a junior blue.

The only real benefit is the four free tickets, so I didn’t register my 24 children until they were old enough to go.
