Its not silly. Its none of our business. If we banned everyone who had ever been unfaithful from public office, we probably couldnt form a government. |
Of course, it is our business. He held a very high office, which would make him open to 'blackmail'.
We are not asking junior government employees to adhere to, or set, some moral code - but this involved a minister of state. One who was instrumental in setting the rules, while all the time knowingly breaking them himself.
And it should be noted that fat boy was happy with this, until I suspect he got feedback from other MPs after they returned to their constituencies.
