Now that the tennis prize money is the same why do woman only play the best of 3 sets rather than 5?

I think the argument was less along hours played and more along the lines of equal package sold to sponsors, and that more sets would make the women's game less competitive.

Is there an argument to suggest the men's game should be reduced to 3 sets? I don't watch tennis enough to know if that would make the quality of the men's game better or worse.*

*Might see less career ending injuries, with a lighter schedule.

It's a totally fair question. It could make sense at the Grand Slam events from Quarter or Semi Finals onwards.

Women don’t cook anymore.

No they bloody don't.

At least not any I know.

The last woman in my life was one of the brightest people I know, yet she would freeze with fear when faced with a stove and a recipe!

I did once go out with a terrific cook, but unfortunately she wasn't very nice looking and there's only so much nice food can compensate for.

That’s what 50 years of radical feminism gets you mate, no tea and a crash course in pasta sauces.

Agree, absolutely.

My elder sister can cook as it goes, as can her daughter. They're both quite talented and my sister has become involved in catering. But she and I had to learn because our dear old mum took after her dear old mum who despite being a lovely person, was capable of ruining the finest ingredients all on her own without too much trouble.

But even she, (my sister), on a visit had me yelling at her for using a fecking boning knife to butter her toast! And when I had a go at her she then opted for my best serrated tomato knife instead. Scenes!

And, (get this), I caught her cutting up raw beef on a board I had already told her was for non meat use only.

I have other boards for meat products.

Fecking amateurs.

See? Perfect example. Ruining good bits of kit through improper use.

It's not clever, it's not 'quirky' - it dulls otherwise good knives. And here's another thing: I've never seen a woman in real life use a steel or whetstone.

That's a positive, that it's not just down to one single thing.

I once went out with someone from Halesham who was a superb chef, but looked like Gove, & who thought cooking me a lovely meal entitled him to "afters"
