I was aware of the Twitter posts but hadn't seen them - there's a link to them in the Just Giving page. Profoundly depressing. It may be a futile gesture but it made me feel a little better to do SOMETHING to try and demonstrate that we're not all *rseholes

What's going on with TWTD these days..? Why the necessity to be so rude and disrespectful to other posters. All happening with increasing regularity it seems.
Think 'twas ever thus tbh - if anything maybe better in the past decade than the earlier years, despite this & other horrible threads occasionally.
Luckily the good vastly outweighs the bad, which is why so many people stick around I guess.
Will report the sickening tweets, if they haven't already been deleted (& I hope the account holders suspended).

Update: All 4 of those people & their vile messages were called out multiple times by other users of the platform, and have now either deleted their accounts or had them terminated by Twitter.

The problem being with Twitter, it's just a token gesture as there's little to no accountability for people to post these. They'll probably largely stay anonymous and be free to create another new account for their "bantz".
I would fully support accounts being registered better and verified to those guilty of such stuff can be held fully responsible.

I feel sorry for her and the online pile on is ridiculous, especially some of the distasteful stuff already mentioned, however I don’t understand how giving her a shed load of money will make things better …

"These days" - This place is just as bad as Twitter and so many like to call that out. Its been that way since its inception.

Whoever controls the camera needs to have a good long think. - on what planet was it a good idea to zoom in on a crying child?
The whole camera in the crowd thing leaves me stone cold at the best of times - I may be an old git but I go to watch a game of football, and I really don’t want to be expected to wave and gurn for the crowd.
When there’s cretins like this on Twitter, that are prepared to post abuse to a young emotional child simply because she happens to be German something is horribly wrong.

Great news. And this was all that needed to happen on the matter. No media outrage against "England fans" and certainly no bluddy charity fundraiser. Jesus wept.
Her reason for crying is completely irrelevant. It's the bile on Twitter that's the issue. Surely you can see that?
You mean the approximately four or five tweets which they will never, ever see. The very, very, very large majority is just taking the piss because she's crying, which would happen if it was me, you or an 90 year old man, that's football.
How does 'Joel' even know the family to get the money to them. It maybe legit, but its got hallmarks of a scam.
He doesn't, he just set it up and advertised it without having a clue how to even track them down. You just know he's watching the donations reach 10,000s and he's on his computer like "Yeah i'm doing everything I can to find them", whilst planning his holiday to Cancun.
Some nasty fookers commenting here. Wicksy wasn't the one laughing at a 7 year old girl for crying and he wasn't the one tweeting evil stuff about her and her family. How about a little respect for someone whose only crime is having sympathy for the family and trying to show them that most English people don't act like fukwits.

Thanks for down voting my really nasty posts. Checked his twitter this morning and he's still tagging many celebrities asking for money, it's at £7,000 when he wanted £500, and yet hasn't posted a single update how his progress in tracking this family is.
Yesterday I thought he was just a snowflake, now i'm convinced he's a huge scammer.

Or maybe you're the snowflake for wetting your pants over all this.......

There are so many reasons why this is wrong.

You make a very good point about zooming in on a crying kid, it's not really the thing to do, ditto zooming on Eriksons wife etc etc etc.
I also fail to see why people in the crowd film the game - ditto concerts.
World is bonkers.

What are you on about? Wicksy has been mentioned twice in this thread and one of those comments was retracted.
I've no idea who this guy is, or why he has set up this JustGiving page and nor does anyone else.
I'm afraid many of the comments here are pretty much what many will be doing when there is the inevitable shot of a Nodge kid in tears come May 2022, I assume you'll be laying into people then too?
Ignoring the twitter comments on the poor girl, setting up a random JustGiving page when you have no idea how to contact the person is plain odd. We might as well set one up for that Man City kid from 2001.

How you've read through this thread and then posted that is beyond me. What are you on about?
Meanwhile you continue to chuck insults around directed at anyone who doesn't agree with you. Self aware much?

....you seem to be getting very angry about everything.
I hope everything is OK.
Cheer up.
