I was aware of the Twitter posts but hadn't seen them - there's a link to them in the Just Giving page. Profoundly depressing.
It may be a futile gesture but it made me feel a little better to do SOMETHING to try and demonstrate that we're not all *rseholes

It doesn't matter. As the OP said the likes of him have done SOMETHING and feels good which is what it's all about. Doesn't actually matter if the girl gets the cash.
Before the usual lot go on the attack, if i'm wrong, then why aren't you all writing to your local MPs and demanding some sort of verification system to post on platforms like Twitter?
How do I know people aren't doing that as well? I don't, but it's pretty unlikely. We see it over and over. Pointless gestures which make the individuals feel good but little actual action. Stand on your doorsteps and clap but when the NHS are betrayed do nothing. Donate some money and have a circle jerk rather than do something that might actually make a difference.
And don't bullsh1t me saying it's happening. Maybe in a few isolated cases but te vast majority? No chance.
It would be far greater justice for her and her father as well as everyone else who is abused by morons to force Twitter to take action. Boycott your account, write to your MP, protest in the streets.

The problem is that everyone is making an assumption about those tweets based off the fake xhamster page somebody maliciously created to discredit this guy. I don't know this bloke or what he is into, but those tweets are only suspicious if you read them in the context of the allegations. Without that, it just smacks of a parent sarcastically talking about their kids and their friends kids being a pain. The bloke is being crucified, mainly because the twitter mob believe everything that gets chucked out. It isn't on for people to making these accusations without any actual evidence, that's how lives get ruined. |  |
