you would seriously struggle to find a Chicken Kiev in Kiev. I was there a couple of years ago and they basically didn't do them, to my surprise. Apparently a French invention that has nothing to do with them.
Great city though, well worth a visit and cheap Ryanair flights, modern train straight to city from airport and everything the third of the price of Dublin.
The metro is an unbelievable experience in a good way and generally pretty friendly place considering their history. Of course the women are typical Easter Europe which means they can cut you down with one dismissive look and reserve smiling for their birthday (as long as the present is suitably impressive) and when they get a tax rebate,
