One player from a Wembley Final 11:58 - Jul 4 with 3145 viewswkj

Ipswich Town has been no strangers to Old Wembley - Some of our greatest players have captivated us beneath the shadows of the towers.

If you could choose only one Town player from a 1st Team Town game played at Wembley to be part of Cook's team this season - who would it be and why? (yes, magically the player would be in their prime)

CM 14 Jermaine Wright
CF 9 David Johnson
CF 27 Marcus Stewart

Substitutes (That Played):

Thinking of the modern game, much faster, I would have to choose Stewart. He would rip L1 and Championship apart even today. Will forever be an Ipswich legand.

He'd have to play up front on his own in a cook team. He'd still be class but maybe not as effective as we remember.

I'd go with mowbray, not because he's better than mariner, wark, beattie etc but because right now he's the one thing we really don't have.

Poll: Which would you accept?

Being unfortunate enough to have not witnessed the 78 team in flesh it would have to be Matt Holland in a heartbeat for me.

A captain to literally wear the club on his sleeve and give 100% week in week out

There is no wrong answer. Holland would definitely be my second choice. Fantastic player and Captain.

You seem to be overlooking both charity shield teams - presumably because Town let in 5 goals on both occasions?

I think you will find that the first Charity Shield game was played at Portman Road against Spurs. Try getting your facts straight before venturing on here for your next miserable effort.

But then you wouldn’t know anything about the Charity Shield would you? You see, you had to win the 1st Division, now Premier League or the FA Cup to be in it. Something your lot have never done.

Please stick to WOTB or the Pink ‘Un. Surely you must be excited about the new season in the Premier League.

I would have to put a claim in for Clapham. I was watching a load of the goals from our promotion year and the first year back, and Clapham either usually crossed, switched, or laid off to Holland to feed the striker.

I don't want to say Clapham was underrated as most of us loved him, but definitely a lot more industrious now I look back and analyze the games rather than cheering on it the moment.

That's a good point but accepting that then it would be Allan Hunter..... now he could look after a young un!
