It's very likely Crooks will move on, so it smacks of us not having the financial muscle to compete.
The transfer window has almost two more months to run, so there is plenty of time for other clubs to raise funds through player sales. |

There is no 'going rate' for a player, only what either club thinks he is worth, so if we up the offer does that mean he has suddenly become better ?

We will pay what we are willing to pay. That doesnt mean we cant compete. It means we dont share the same value as that of the selling club which is fair enough. Surely not about not having the money as first thought, more balancing the players incoming to remain within FFP. The more we pay on Crooks (or any other player) the less we have on the quality CB we need. | | | |
