Spain have turned up for this game but have been bang average on their route to the semis. Before this game I’d have much preferred them to Italy. Currently I’d still prefer them but the gap is narrowing. Still think they’re shaky at the back, particularly if the goalkeeper is out under pressure, and wasteful up front. |  | | |

Don't take away the fact we didn't let Germany and Denmark play. That is the important thing that many fail to grasp - The Germany game was 90 minutes of pressing and hassling - it wasn't Hollywood, but it was definitely a case of not letting them play to their strengths.
If we beat the Danes in 90 minutes... we'll be up for Italy or Spain have to offer. Especially as they will be knackered playing at this tempo tonight.
That said, I would prefer going up against the Spanish, the Italians have the physical edge, and will be much harder to bully than the Spaniards. |  |

Last night Italy were absolutely spent and clinging on in Extra Time (and were the weaker team for the last 20 minutes of the 90, too).
If either England or Denmark were to take them to Extra Time then I would say Italy would find it hard to cope. Especially England, with several very fresh, very quick wingers on the bench.
But beating Denmark is far from a foregone conclusion. | | | |

Wouldn't say they're a level above Germany really. Italy are better coached, maybe, but look tired at this point. Spain are just so profligate, they've really got to win every game twice over. Plus none of their centre back combos work. |  |

Hmmm, not so sure. Maybe they would have given Spain a game, though not on last night's form. Germany weren't great though and struggled to get out of their group. Italy, I am sure, would have mullered them. | |
