Things not going as planned for Boris 21:36 - Jul 10 with 7019 viewsStokieBlue

It seems that 50% want "freedom day" pushed back, hospitals and transport want masks to be compulsory and a number of restaurant and pub chains are planning on keeping the mask requirement and social distancing in their establishments.

Can only see all of the above increasing over the next 9 days.

Follow the science and data, not the popularism.

And that's the problem - if Johnson does try and push it back further then he'll have a rebellion on his hands, possibly an unmanageable one. But he's brought that on himself.

It is inevitable that at sometime in the next 6-9 months that restriction will have to be introduced. It is not reasonable to assume that sufficient will heed any guidance given if not supported by rule of law.

We all have choices to make. Your local drinking hole has restrictions in place which feel restrict your rights, then go elsewhere and mix with others who share you thinking.

Likewise if you feel uncomfortable in an establishment where everyone does what they want then move to another location where you feel safer.

Can you imagine living in a world where speed limits, traffic lights, seatbelt wearing, paying taxes were all voluntary .

Good. He shouldn’t have indulged these babies into believing that wearing a mask and washing your hands was some sort of Kafkaesque imposition.

It's chaos out there already.

Just popped out to get some supplies for tonight and a nice brunch outside and the pubs are utterly nuts. They are full already with another 100+ people outside. They all seem to be operating on a first-come first-serve basis. Some were apparently queuing from 10am.

I would have thought it would have been better to have them pre-booked but what do I know.

But what they will do, is nt have the backing of the law to enforce their policies.

Plus, if you, as an adult cannot handle having to queue slightly longer of put a bit of cloth on your face for a few minutes, then you probably shouldn't be allowed out without a carer.

Exactly, places can set rules that they are comfortable with and customers can choose whether to go there or not, everyone’s a winner

Pretty sure any establishment that requires mask wearing wouldn’t be a suitable destination for your level of clientele.

They wouldn’t want the knuckle marks where you drag them along the deck.

Scientists say don’t open up in winter. So next Spring it would be.

Where are you getting your info about Israel on? Currently they are having a bit of a surge:

I pity anyone who tries to cross the barmaids at my local who are firmly adamant that 'no one stands/sits at the bar' is carrying on for the time being.

Table service is widely welcomed and should be the new normal, queuing up at the bar has always been a pain in the rear. Good riddance to it.

Just for once I agree with the government. Time to get back to normal. Covid is here to stay so we just have to live with it.

And there, dear readers, is the ignorance and selfishness that stalks the land.

The clapping is over, and it is now a case of fck the NHS and the medical staff on the wards who will have to deal with the consequences.

Fck those who will see their operations delayed further because of beds being needed for covid patients. A local hospital crammed with covid patients is 'the normal' that we have to get back to.

Is it any wonder the bloated, spineless buffoon has been allowed to get away with fcking up so much over the past two years when you read the idiocy of Gerry.

Hospitality say they cannot survive with table service only.

strange that , i thought tim (brexit) martin made a big deal of his app where you order your food and pint before you even enter the pub. also said helped his turnover as people ordered the pints at the table, which was quicker than going to the bar. that was all before covid hit. all resturants are table service.

it is just a bit of nonsense to harvest data from the not too bright, as it is far more time consuming for staff to be carrying (often individual) drink/food to a table
