There are some disgusting scenes of violence coming out of Wembley tonight on 00:37 - Jul 12 by Coastalblue
We need to laugh at them and treat them like the neanderthals they are. It might sound simplistic but it worked for drink driving, when I was a kid everybody did it, but it became socially unnaceptable.
These people are socially retarded, we need to treat them that way, I truly believe the massive majority are not, show them up for the fools they are and hopefully they will stop wanting to be seen in that way.
They are a bunch of brain dead dickheads, but every single one of us is in some way responsible for them feeling they can act like that.
Spot on, when I was a kid it was treated as normal to dink drive, now older we all know what a stupid attitude it is to have. These idiots need to realise they are idiots. Only way to do that is to tell them. If you think it is a Tory issue, then you need to grow up.

As a kid you probably shouldn’t have been drinking or driving.

What on earth is the connection between Euro 2000 and Brexit or a right of centre government.
I picked Euro 2000 because that was a tournament that I went to and experienced for the first time the real xenophobic hatred of other nations from the English. It was such a contrast from all the other fans that tournament.
It is getting worse and being driven by this nasty vile Tory government with a leader who is borderline BNP and one of the main protagonists of Brexit.
The constant booing of other nation's anthems and the BLM support from the England players is further evidence.

For whatever reason hooliganism and booing national anthems has been around for ages, not just under this government. I don’t think it’s getting worse - it’s always been there.
The minority need to look at themselves, not the mass. You’re as guilty of sensationalism as those you’re targeting in your post, which is kinda ironic.

Quite a lot.
I was at the game in Charleroi, at which England fans were utterly disgraceful. Ignorant beyond belief.
The complete lack of any sort of shame, apology or investigation at that time was part of a sorry path towards the sort of moronic behaviour we have seen through these Euros, where we actually had a pretty decent team.
Attacking innocent Danes and Italians, two of our most sympathetic neighbours, is really awful and shameful.
Our team does not deserve these vile 'fans'.
Tbf our army need to recruit from somewhere.

You think this is acceptable? These aren’t young people beating the sh!t out of Italian fans trying to peacefully leave a football match
The 1000s booing other nations anthems is a high % across a wide demographic
The 1000s booing the knee is a disgrace, emboldened by our own government
The country is not going in the right direction, period
All completely unacceptable.
Looks like that’s outside the exits to the stadium where most of the Italian fans were…. Which does also beg the question where were the police? Surely one of the obvious locations to have a significant presence would be outside their exits to allow them to leave the stadium safely?
I haven't been to a pub for an England game since the Euro 96 semi final. Too many morons, always the atmosphere that if you, as a football fan, praised something the opposition did, like score an absolute cracker like Denmark did the other night, you'd end up with a kicking. And this would be from people who didn't know one end of a pitch to another, wonder why Bobby Moore wasn't playing, and claim their favourite team was Manchester Northern Rovers.
On the other hand, I have watched us play Norwich, in a pub, in Norwich, surrounded by the yellow, it being known by a lot that I'm a blue, and apart from the choi-oiking when we inevitably lost, felt perfectly safe and had no issues.
And that's why it's club over country every time for me. England attract too many complete dregs of humanity. Even with this fine group of players who share a lot of my stances and beliefs on issues, there's this element of the fan base that still disapprove of that.
Bring on the Olympics, I say. As we've seen before, that works much better at bringing the country together. And you don't tend to get much aggro at the canoeing.

Can I just point out that in 2000 we had a Labour government?

It's nothing to do with the Italian fans. It was England fans getting the hump with ticketless morons chancing their arm and fighting their way into the stadium.

I’m starting to think criticising booing of the anthems is that most terrible of things; a Tory Opinion.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

We've watched repeated booing of opposition national anthems, the laser on Schmeichel, the break-ins to Wembley, and the racist abuse of Rashford, Saka, and Sancho. What elements of racism, xenophobia, selfishness, and self-serving cheating are NOT associated with a detailed history of Boris Johnson and his government?

Ah, I thought I had seen a clip where England fans were waiting for the Italian fans outside.
Watching it back, you're right. It's England fans with tickets giving those breaking in a slap or two.

I've seen this first hand many years ago.
I went to 14 games in Euro 2000 and saw games from most of the participating nations and the experience of the fans from those games was just an immense pleasure.
One game I went to was Slovenia v Yugoslavia in Charleroi, great game 3-3, and the fans before the game were amazing.
4 days later England played Germany in Charleroi, and the English fans that day were an utter disgrace.
It is a national issue that seems to be getting worse with this extreme right wing government we have and the subsequent post brexit era.
I'm sure most English people are just great but there is that element of English society that just can't help being utter scumbags.
That is certainly not my recollection.
I too was at Germany England and did not see a hint of trouble *until* the train got back into Brussels and the England fans had to walk through the Turkish quarter to get to the main square. It was then that the trouble erupted and was due to be attacked indiscriminately by Turkey supporters.
