including some on the right, are getting fed up with the "culture wars" stupidity and how it's playing out.

This bad farce may not have long to run, now.

It is the distraction 'magicians' use when performing a trick. Get the audience's focus away from what you are really doing.

In this case, it is spewing out vacuous labels to describe a huge conspiracy by those who are mostly ............not white. Society does not evolve through many complex changes, but is warped out of shape by these people. Currently, the 'woke'.

The thought is that it is not the government cutting pay, benefits, funding for schools/hospitals etc.................it is the 'woke'. Be they Mr Jones the farmer in Animal Farm, the Jews in 1930's Germany, those un Americans in 1950's USA. Eurasia/East Asia in 1984, or simply the EU in the UK.

It plays to simple people who want simple answers. People who need a 'them' to blame for all their woes. People whose ignorance has that any improvement in the lot of others can only come about at the detriment to themselves

So don't be surprised if there is no reasoned argument to back this stuff. There isn't. That is the whole point. Like the sheep in Animal Farm it provides the simple folk with empty slogans to bleat.

" lock her up, brexit means brexit, build the wall, oven ready deal, get it done"

Much as with Brexit and the ignorant bleat of "project fear". Words that allowed the stupid to ignore evidence - as seen

"It is the distraction 'magicians' use when performing a trick. Get the audience's focus away from what you are really doing."

This, times a 100. With the Brexit vote they intentionally inflated/lied about the weekly payments to the EU - so we all got into a debate about whether it was £350m or £250m a week. Irrespective, that was the debate.

Same with the Turkish millions of potential immigrants. It was bullsh1t but that was the focus - on migration.

So now, do they want to talk about the sh1tshower of Brexit? Or how are we going to pay for it? Or the state of the NHS? Or the complete absence of a social care bill? Or the education fck up that is materialising? Or the state of our so called justice system?

Course they don't - so they highlight some cr*p argument - and we fall for it, yet again. See also worrying about no platforming and/or whatever the latest LGBT issue is that isn't an issue for 99% of us all.

Poll: This new lockdown poll - what you reckon?

The disturbing thought is what causes folk to be so easily lied to.

In the case of UK fishermen, todays article in the Independent clearly shows it was naked greed - and still is. As aside from the sheer stupidity of trusting Johnson there is this nonsense "with very, very solid assurances given by the Prime Minister, Lord Frost, and senior members of the cabinet over control over who fishes in UK waters and escape from the Common Fisheries Policy — and quota shares that reflected our new status as an independent coastal state"

Yes, let's get back to the days when UK fishing boats emptied the North Sea and then set about doing the same around Iceland. Thankfully, they were stopped. A 'fck you' attitude to marine cinservation is not going to sit well with others. Nor is the stupidity that the UK leaves the Single Market, but still enjoys all the benefits, with none of the incumbent responsibilities.

If you chose to believe the impossible can happen because an habitual liar tells you, then I would suggest the fault lies almost solely with you.

Much as with the current 'culture wars' which are nothing more than a cover for anti-black & LGBT sentiment - bundled up with attacks on other progressive groups. As if the country somehow faces imminent collapse under the weight of tolerance and open minded behaviour.

And it doesn't take much to grasp what underpins the stuff being put out is they, the supposed 'woke' people, are not this country. They are a malign force, who need to be stood up to like some invading army.

Just as there were incidents of German Dachshunds being attacked during WW1, and much beside, so we have mass and individual acts of racism and bigotry now becoming a common occurrence, as the ignorant are given easily identified scapegoats.

The bigoted dog-whistling, feeble gesture politics and over-the-top flag-shagging that you lap up like a thirsty, yet racist, labrador.

He’s more of a chihuahua… owned by some large breasted blonde that talks a lot and has fecked the whole country.

Also the most stupid little dog known to mankind and would be best drop kicked down the road.

Am sure he knows how it is playing out, but tories are going to tory.

I think Baker is a fairly consistent free marketeer, who generally appears fairly decent morally but is just so tied to being so libertarian so sometimes his views seem inhumane

Not having this.

That is absolute bollox.

The word free-marketer is as 'misleading' as arbeit macht frei.

What it means is opposition to any regulation they disagree with - almost always being the ones that restrict the exploitation of labour or natural resources.

Any wonder "sometimes his views seem inhumane ", as that amount to little more than the right to act like a cnt when it suits ie the freedom to be involved in arms smuggling to West Bengal, covering up the human rights abuses in Equatorial Guinea and peddling arms to Saudi Arabia.

I would be curious to know if those on the receiving end of those weapons appreciate such 'free market' views, and does libertarian mean their liberty from being blown up .
