Not expecting tomorrow night to ‘just’ another pre-season friendly 21:48 - Jul 26 with 3360 viewsunstableblue

Not going to be a ‘chance to put some minutes into the legs’ or a ‘meaningless warm-up game’

Cook will be desperate to beat the old guard and show the fans he’s putting together a better team and system than the players and effort he so derided

Judge, Sears, Skuse and most tellingly Chambers will want to prove a very big point to Cook and the Town fans, as we know the reality of Chambers opinion of Cook.

Going to be a good battle, looking forward to it. But dreading any injuries. Would love a good win and importantly goals.

I’ll be there.

What has Chambers said about Cook? I've only seen the video the club did when it was announced he was leaving.

This is what I am trying to work out. OP put "we know the reality of Chambers opinion of Cook".

I feel as though I have missed something.

There will be a bit of added spice, but think the crowd coming back adds that anyway

All those who have left will want to show they could have contributed to a new era, and that they feel harshly treated in how their exits were handled - we know Judge and Chambers think that as have said as much.

Cook won't want to lose, it's just another little thing that will needlessly add a bit of pressure to his role if we do, but they'll be bang up for it and we need to be.

We don't 'need' to be at all, we need to treat it just like the coaches will want us to and if that has specific requirements then that takes preference over petty point proving imo.

We might be planning on going 4 2 3 1 in 2 weeks time, but may see 4 4 2 tonight to get more minutes into some other legs etc.

There won't be pressure, not by people who understand it's just a friendly, rather than a game against our hurting friends.

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.

You should go Joe.

The ticket process is a slight pain, but not too bad, yes agree it’s too expensive for a league two friendly.

But there is a spice, strange to suggest otherwise. Ex players always want to prosper against old employers.

But Chambo and Judge definitely felt harshly dealt with by Cook, and Cook will not want the headline or stigma of the old guard he cleared out beating his new order.

But for me it’s just going to be interesting to compare Judge to Burns in terms of ability and energy, how Norwood and Piggot fair against Chambo and Smith, how much better Evans looks to Skuse. Etc

And as you say - a full away end hopefully relishing seeing a new breed of player showing better quality.

Having been to the Palace game all new players were way better than the players they replaced
