Might well have done, apols, been away.
I quite like him but too raw to be involved with the first team yet. Hopefully the coaching staff have seen something in him worth keeping and developing.

Yeah, good point. There’s a lack of competitive games in academy and reserve football so why not send out on loan. Little to lose really. | |

It's hard to loan out in League 1 as nowhere to go - we probably have a lot more loans going on than people realise as well because the majority go into the non leagues
We had players on 18 loan spells last season, the year before it was 26. |  |

I must say I don't understand why Ashton is so against Cat 1. He didn't really explain why he doesn't value the benefits that others see. Perhaps it's just that he sees youth development as risky, and prefers the wheeler dealer model? If that's the case, let's hope he's good at it! |  | | |
