Burns RB 10:19 - Aug 6 with 1136 views | captainfantastic | We now have Burns, Chaplin, Dobra to cover RW. That makes me think we'll utilise Burns & KVY as our right backs for the season and use Chaplin/Dobra as RW [Post edited 6 Aug 2021 10:19]

Burns RB on 10:23 - Aug 6 with 1064 views | Nthsuffolkblue | I certainly think Burns at RB is a very realistic option. A lot will depend on availability, form and partnerships that work. The idea of KVY covering at LB too is a good shout. Is Chaplin RW? Can he play anywhere across the front 3?

Burns RB on 10:24 - Aug 6 with 1047 views | positivity | we've got a lot of players who can cover multiple positions, key with a small squad. kvy and donacien can both play lb, but coulson seems as good as done, so doubt we'll need them there...

Yes Chaplin can play anywhere across the frontline, but likes to drop inside from the right onto his left foot

Burns RB on 10:25 - Aug 6 with 1035 views | TractorCam | Can't see that, Burns has been one of the better players in pre-season on the wing. Perhaps if KVY was injured he may get the nod over Donacien with all the options now upfront, happy problems to have at least.

I can see KVY being rotated this season given his injury record, to limit likelihood of recurrence.

That may be the case but Dobra has played well there and if it is Chaplin's preferred position I doubt Burns will play ahead of him to begin with. Burns has not been an automatic first choice on the right every pre-season match. Burns did well playing for Fleetwood at RB still using his pace and providing attacking threat.

Key there is attacking threat. Imagine we'll be dominating the ball a lot this season, so having him bombing on from right back with his energy.. it'll be like having an additional forward player

Burns RB on 10:41 - Aug 6 with 868 views | TomTheWriter | The huge benefit we will see this season, if Barry and Jacobs are to join, is that no position is being left uncovered. Last season, losing KVY and loaning out Donacien meant we had to choose between a 35 year old centre back or a right winger to fill the gap. Chambers did well, but he's better in CB. This season, every area is covered. KVY can play at LB, Burns can play at RB, Donation can play at CB, Fraser can drop to CM. Dobra, Chaplin, Jacobs can all cover the three behind the striker. Pigott can drop deep, Norwood can drop deep, Barry can play up front on his own. Versatility is key to getting out of League One with extra cup games, not a large squad. Donation is the perfect squad player because he can play across the back line. Even Hayden Coulson has played LB, LW, CM and CAM for Middlesbrough last two seasons.

A bit harsh calling him Donation (although I reckon some fans would agree)!

How does Donacien spell check twice to Donation, yet it doesn't on one occasion!

He seems to cut in from the left for a lot of his goals and is left footed, but yeah just seen he can play wide right too and cut in on his left foot that way.
