My tickets have finally arrived... 13:28 - Aug 12 with 1583 views | Zx1988 | For the Newport match on Tuesday. That's despite having ordered them on Thursday last week. Given their late arrival, one wonders whether they were even posted in time. The issues with the ticket office are baffling - they seemed to be such a well-run department of the club up until this season.

I'm still waiting for my Burton tickets and I must have been one of the first to order when they came on sale. With Cheltenham I got mine at the club shop and for those living in Ipswich that's probably the way to go, absolute mess.

I spoke to the ticket office on it, and the guy sounded far from convincing.

Why on earth are the club still having to send out tickets in this day age. Waste of trees

No different to having to print out a ticket at home. I would hope that the card stock that the club uses for tickets is from recycled sources anyway.

I don't know, but wouldn't that depend on the away club having the infrastructure to accept e-tickets? I assume it would also need a degree of data sharing between clubs, especially when both are not on the same ticketing system, which may have GDPR issues.

After the shambles at Wembley with people getting in on photographed QR codes, I'm really not sure that e-tickets are the answer

Don't forget Illy we've had plastic cards for season tickets for the best part of 20 years and still need someone on each turnstile to scan it.

I didn't see anyone getting in with photographed QR - they only activate the tickets just before going in. Everyone I saw was just ramming in behind people with legit tickets. The tech wasn't the issue it was totally ineffective and insufficient police, stewards and civil disobedience. [Post edited 12 Aug 2021 15:37]

They are. People have the choice to get sent a physical ticket or print at home or use the mobile scanning turnstiles. I personally like a physical ticket for away games, Manchester City have gone completely e-ticket on smartphones.

For the Millwall friendly I had the ticket on my phone, the old boy on the turnstile seems to think people have to hold their phone dead upright for him to scan in, instead of holding the scanner up over the phone like the other two have done for the other games

Long may people be given plenty of options. E tickets dont suit everyone and if clubs want as much support as possible they really need to consider giving plenty of options regardless of it being 2021. Modern methods should supplement paper tickets and cash, not replace them completely . Clubs like Manchester City can afford to not care as they will fill the stadium anyway.

There was an option to collect from Burton on the day I suppose they were hoping people would take that option up.

I had a paper ticket for the Euros match I went to at Wembley and it confused the hell out of the steward I showed it to before the turnstiles.
