I think we've all been there..
you were saved by the champion jockey being able to judge pace second to nobody and keep a horse balanced in a tight finish. But it was a good call. Others had the same opinion as it was backed. Any insights? |

For what it’s worth, I suspect Guilded goes off around 6/1. The 10s and 12s is a nonsense in a line through the favourite amongst other form angles. |
I don't think 10s to 12s was nonsense (or even the price at the off) if you just analyse it really simply. She hadn't managed to win in four starts. Why would she suddenly win upped in class? I don't get it I'm afraid.
I had Delmona, who finished 3rd. A few pennies for a place.

No good. Finished about 7th/8th of the 16 runners.
The ownership (where I got it from) have had a real hit here as they’d got stuck in last night. They expected the each way money to land. Hopefully it hasn’t cost anyone on here too much.
Win some, lose some. We’ve had plenty of winners on these threads so a loser or two.. hopefully nobody is too angry/disappointed. Onto the next one. |

That often happens, tho if the yard themselves are ITK it'll usually be reflected in the price steaming, not drifting, in the few mins before the off.

However, in a gambling yard - and there are a fair few because, for a small stable, it's often the only way to make training pay - they usually have a good idea if a horse is "off" & which is the best of their runners. | |

But often they honestly don't. The Duffield yard back then was one of the biggest gambling yards going - not sure if that still appolies now - because of Ann's husband George's (former well-known jockey) love of landing big gambles. | |
