Horse today 🎠10:28 - Aug 13 with 4032 views | The_Romford_Blue | 3:20 at Newbury - Guilded @ 10/1 each way 10/1 is with Betfair and Sky (5 places) or Bet365 12/1 (3 places). I’d suggest Betfair or Sky for the five places. Good luck all. [Post edited 13 Aug 2021 10:28]

Horse today 🎠on 15:39 - Aug 13 by JamestownPrince | Poor draw in the end and looks like a winter on its back and 6/7 furlongs will help - not one to put in the avoid list with Van Dijk and Billy the Squid yet!!! |
Don't know the horse & didn't put any money on. Is Guilded gelded yet? If not, he might soon be ;/

Horse today 🎠on 15:40 - Aug 13 by ClareBlue | I think we've all been there.. you were saved by the champion jockey being able to judge pace second to nobody and keep a horse balanced in a tight finish. But it was a good call. Others had the same opinion as it was backed. Any insights? |
I liked the fact that it won over 6 f on good going and had the better jockey.

As the old joke goes: The prisoner in the dock is coughing incessantly. Judge: 'Would you like a Fisherman's Friend to suck?' Prisoner: 'Thank you m'lud, by I'm in enough trouble as it is'.

Horse today 🎠on 11:05 - Aug 13 by The_Romford_Blue | Haha you so often do. OneForArthur at 25/1 and Takingrisks at 50/1 being the two that gained me some rep on here. For what it’s worth, I suspect Guilded goes off around 6/1. The 10s and 12s is a nonsense in a line through the favourite amongst other form angles. |
I don't think 10s to 12s was nonsense (or even the price at the off) if you just analyse it really simply. She hadn't managed to win in four starts. Why would she suddenly win upped in class? I don't get it I'm afraid. I had Delmona, who finished 3rd. A few pennies for a place. But then, I'm down overall today. You win some, you definitely lose some, eh?

Horse today 🎠on 15:28 - Aug 13 by The_Romford_Blue | No good. Finished about 7th/8th of the 16 runners. The ownership (where I got it from) have had a real hit here as they’d got stuck in last night. They expected the each way money to land. Hopefully it hasn’t cost anyone on here too much. Win some, lose some. We’ve had plenty of winners on these threads so a loser or two.. hopefully nobody is too angry/disappointed. Onto the next one. |
As the trainer had 2 runners in the race, if there is positive information around, you might at least hope it would be about the better of the 2 runners!

That often happens, tho if the yard themselves are ITK it'll usually be reflected in the price steaming, not drifting, in the few mins before the off. I once stood in the parade ring with Ann Duffield & asked her which of the 4 horses she had in the next race she thought the most likely winner. "Haven't a clue" she said, "horses often surprise - even their trainers!"

So, I gave my Mrs £20 and a scrap of paper earlier and asked her to go in the bookmakers and find out how to do it. She hasn’t stopped taking the pi55 yet.

I know that horses aren't machines & some trainers don't really "try" their horses at home. However, in a gambling yard - and there are a fair few because, for a small stable, it's often the only way to make training pay - they usually have a good idea if a horse is "off" & which is the best of their runners.

But often they honestly don't. The Duffield yard back then was one of the biggest gambling yards going - not sure if that still appolies now - because of Ann's husband George's (former well-known jockey) love of landing big gambles.
