People ask why some Managers hate press conferences on 17:22 - Aug 13 by eastangliaisblue | Yes he has made himself look a bit of a t1t, but why should he apologise for having an opinion? |
The OP was just "I don't like this so I'm going to have a whinge". There wasn't any constructive criticism or argument, it was just needlessly rude and narrow-minded. That's what is worthy of an apology. Having an opinion is fine, CM has a lot of them - it would just be helpful if people didn't treat their opinions as facts.

People ask why some Managers hate press conferences on 15:11 - Aug 13 by chrismakin | Fine Based on the newspiece One positive was the team coming from behind twice, showing a resilience which last year’s side was often accused of lacking. " Paul, M/A has often spoken of the importance of player character, do you agree we've already seen the potential of this new side with a resilient performance on saturday and it's something the town fans can look forward to?" As you know, grammer etc isn't my best, so the above may not read well, but you may get my point. Gets the question across in a positive aspect regarding the new side, without the need of referencing last years. |
Feck me it's 1970s Soviet Union

It's hard to know if it's ignorance or deliberate, but to conflate "not liking 1 specific question" with what was an incredibly rude and completely unsubstantiated questioning of someone's work on their own platform (that you use to excess) is quite remarkable. Forgive people for wishing to remark. As has been suggested, try looking through the eyes of others. Imagine someone with 0 experience in your job walking into your workplace and asking "wtf are you doing?".

Cheers Plug, end of the day, It's interesting I get moaned at for not letting people air their feelings about the embarrassment of Sheeran having a number, or people being able to say PC has failed etc. But the same people don't allow someone to take a disliking to a question asked at a press conference. Bizarre really.

It wasn't anything like other threads that I've seen where that was an issue. Phil was on this one himself for a start, and I'm sure would have quickly put a stop to it if he'd thought it was going down those lines. I've supported CM a few times before now, & not joined in threads where I thought he was getting an unfair caning, but the issue here was that having been a bit embarrassed on pp1-2, instead of then holding his hand up (out of sheer courtesy even if nothing else) after Phil gave a reasoned explanation, he (CM) then kept on insisting & arguing with just about everyone else that he was right & Phil was wrong. He could have stopped at any point, or just offered an 'agree to disagree' and left it there - but didn't.

Insisting and arguing is where you are wrong. What I don't do is change my opinion just because it doesn't suit others. Do I discuss my views, yes to those who contribute to the thread in question.

An actual Neutral outsider, would see it as a poster not liking a question asked without knowing who asked it. Person who asked it announces that they asked it, discussion takes place about it. The end between the two.... Then add 7 pages of posters demanding I change my view..

But possible it could be longer, of course. |
Dare say yours gets put under rather less stress though Phil ;) Perfectly good question if you ask me you teed him up for a bit of positivity on the new lads. I suspect he was annoyed at conceeding 2 and so didn't want to blow smoke of their glutes.... gotta earn the praise from PC.. How about if we score Saturday you go with boys done goal good, manager happy?

Bullsh*t and you know it. It isn't just the same people sticking it to CM. If you open your eyes to this thread, the vast majority of us are disagreeing with the point in the OP rather than the poster himself. AKA - "Using the forum as intended".

He posted something controversial, then doubled down on it later in the thread. People responded to this. As far as I'm aware there isn't a rule about the number of people who are allowed to respond to threads. This is the same stupid line of reasoning that people used when accusing others of bullying in the past.
