The US have long said they are withdrawing leaving a corrupt and incompetent local Government and infrastructure.

China say Afghanistan is where empires go to die. For once, they are bang on here.

Just to remind what the deal was.

You would assume aid packages will now agreed, with certain conditions surrounding ongoing 'terrorist' activity. Large infrastructure projects will now be up for grabs and won by US companies, all paid for by federal money.
