Heard on the podcast... on 15:56 - Aug 19 by OriginalMarkyP | I'm not a drama queen. I say what I see with honesty. Other people seem intent on bringing their own drama to other people's comments. Which is interesting from a psychological perspective. |
What’s the curiosity which prompted it though if not to make a point and what purpose does it serve to know either way? It’s a pretty dry topic of debate because either way, it means nothing. Cook has already come out and said, “he’s not going to shout and scream at them in the changing room”. After a bad defeat like that, a non-hand shake as a player would be the least of my concerns and the least severe measure I’d expect.

What purpose does it serve to know either way? What a fatuous question that is. I'm an Ipswich fan. A football fan. I have like every other football fan an interest in almost everything that happens at my club on and off the pitch. It's what fans do. So the purpose it serves it to sate my curiousity. That's it. Too many on here seem to have a really warped idea of what being a football fan represents. FOOTBALL FANS WANT TO EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS AT THEIR CLUB. If the manager does something that a podcast feel is worth mentioning they want to know about it. It's a fan site. It's not a site where there are only a set series of questions that it's ok to ask, only a set series of opinions it's permissable to hold. What purpose does it serve? Really? FFS. What's happened to people on here?

really? i'd rather they were so pissed off at the result that they wanted out of there to focus on putting it right. A clap does absolutely jack sht. wont change the result.

when I say 'attack dog' I mean more in that warner bros cartoon style. Think Spike running around barking at Tom then running into a rake and smashing himself in the face.

I think many would agree, being a football fan who wants to know whether a man shakes another mans hand is very removed from anything resembling, interesting enough to warrant discussion, let alone a thread or topic of debate. It was equally uninteresting when Wayne Bridge refused to shake John Terry’s hand, or Lambert Steve Evans’, let alone Paul Cook with his team at Cheltenham on a Toosdee night.

I'd suggest the fact that you can mention those non-handshakes and everyone will remember them suggests people were interested. [Post edited 20 Aug 2021 15:29]

I'm afraid with that knowledge of previous HandshakeGates you've now outed yourself there as more than a mere "interested" questioner.....

HA! I can remember some really famous failed handshake-gates in football after someone else has prompted me by listing them? Any football fan around at time of those would remember them. The Terry / Cahill one was pratically a national incident the amount the media hyped it.

True. But we're all not above getting sucked in to a bit of sensationalism. I'm certainly not. Especially if it's around our own club.
