The question now really is with a couple days of window left 17:07 - Aug 28 with 2724 viewschicoazul

Does Ashton give Cook more time and let him make a couple more signings like a keeper and yet another CM and CB? Does he say no more signings? Or does he take the nuclear option and say to a new guy, work with these until December? Cook has had what, 23 games now to impress or at least show signs of even the basics like training the team to defend set pieces properly. One thing is for sure, if they are sticking with him they need to bring at least one big personality into the team ASAP who can mentally and physically reinforce this latest bunch of dolly drops.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Poll: With Evans taking 65% in Huddersfield, is the Banter Era over?

I wonder if those who attacked me on here for saying Cook hasn't been good enough and has shown nothing will apologise.

More importantly I wonder if Joe will get an apology for daring to say similar and being proven right yet again, when he's had a lot of unwarranted stick from posters on here.

They also talked about such major changes needing time and needing support from the fans...they also said to trust the process...but you've conveniently ignored all of that haven't you...

I haven’t ignored anything and the support this club gets after years of pathetic failure is remarkable.. The rebuilding of the football club is the main process and will take time. However if you are building something and one element isn’t working, you have to do something about it. You either stick with it and hope for the best, based on signs of improvement, or you make changes.

We are as porous as we were first game of the season and just as far away from winning a match, not least because we haven’t played anyone yet. This is Cooks mess and from his post match ramblings, he has little idea what to do about it other than hoping a few players recover from injury.

It’s a long season and maybe he will get it right - but how long do you give him?

TBF we shouldn’t pay much mind to what he says immediately after games as it’s always going to be the usual platitudes and I don’t mean that in a bad way as all managers are pretty much the same. From the sound of this keeper link it seems like Ashton is sticking with Cook all the way so I guess we all need to get used to that. Wouldn’t be surprised if we got another defender too, I did hear we were in for a young CM on loan from the Prem but that’s probably not going to happen now.

I'm pretty sure that panic signings as the window swings shut to replace panic signings that the manager allegedly wanted is not a good sign. However, after all the hype bringing in a shedload of hangars on, fitness gurus AND a patronising man in an open-neck shirt I doubt the three turkey vultures udgetted to pay off the gravy train riding manager - so I suspect he's here for a bit longer.

Whether he has been cynically angling for a pay off from the moment he arrived - or is just plain useless is really the more pertinent question
