In every game 20:01 - Aug 28 with 1878 views | bluefunk | we’ve fallen away badly after about an hour. Couldn’t recover after giving a goal away against Morecombe (also trying clever play in the wrong areas) failed to recognise we were vulnerable to the counter against Burton, allowed pressure against Cheltenham leading to the late goal, with same today (more trying to be clever in the wrong areas too) , and against MK, simply outplayed. If formations don’t win games, then why be so rigid in the way we set up - it’s been clear in every game we get outnumbered in the centre too often in the last half hour or so, yet PC does little to address it. I’m losing patience with him, either it’s the way we set up, or it’s the players, since he was and is in control of both, it’s his fault

Edwards fades in every match too. Looked like he was running on empty for the last 10-15 minutes.

Fraser looks like he is labouring whenever he moves.

I noticed one moment in the second half that summed this up - Pigott and Fraser were working in tandem to try and harry the Dons defence and it was working. They were panicked and struggling to get it out... until it moved to the right where Edwards was the closest player. And he didn't bother pressing at all. They played around him and attacked. It might have even been the start of the move which resulted in the free kick for their first goal.

The injuries haven't helped either. BUT, if they aren't fit enough yet, don't play that way until they are capable of doing so, otherwise this run of non wins will just continue. Fine go 4 2 3 1 from the start, if we get ahead, just lock it up, go 4 5 1, see it home, relax and slow the fken thing down.

I'd love to know what we were trying today - what was the point of continually playing it over the top to Pigott? In fairness he won a few balls but there was no one near him to pick them up, resulting in them attacking again. It didn't help that we struggled to win the back as well.

I don't know if that's a demand or if that's players choosing to do it.. what I don't agree with at this time is where PC says at 2-0 you want to go 3-0 4-0. TBH, buger it, just win it 2-0.

I don’t understand why we didn’t go to 451 to swamp midfield at 2-1 Aluko was a crap decision and this rigid 4231 is killing us

Just hold it at 2-1; we'd be happy with 2-1. We seemed to be chasing a third with balls over the top - why??? ETA - Well we know why, because the middle has disintegrated and we'd lost our full backs. [Post edited 28 Aug 2021 22:21]

Apart from the obvious Hladky, Fraser is the biggest disappointment for me.

Fraser is such an enigma - he seems to do little but give the ball away for the most part but he was one of the leading chance creators in the league prior to today.

In every game on 16:33 - Aug 29 with 893 views | ArnieM | The team are playing at a very high tempo , high up the pitch . You are right, we do fall away badly after 60mins. Which is why Cook is saying the players ( as yet), “have not reached the required fitness levels”, ( to maintain this high tempo game) . Interval training takes time to reap the dividends….I’ll say again, expect nothing this season, and if we do manage to string it altogether, I personally won’t be looking for such dividends until around Christmas time and into th3 second half of the. Be realistic !

Sports science department can't do much about Cook not realising the opposition change their tactics and outnumber our midfield around the hour mark every game.
