I think there instinct would be to leg it back through the fence into the coop. I think I have spied where the dastardly deed occurred as the stubble is slightly higher in one small section where the traumatised farmer has raised the blades when he saw what was occurring at the far reaches of his combine.
There is of course the possibility that a passing motorist has borrowed them. |
I found it strange how uneven the height of the stubble is on the cut field near us. I presume the uneven ground beneath the wheels would have some effect.
I find your imagination of a traumatised driver raising the blades unlikely. I think more likely a wiggly path where they had to swerve several times before getting them. Or actually, more likely, the driver was asleep as the GPS did it all for him. |  |

Nope all lovely and even apart from this little bit and there is even a huge dump of straw which suggests he stopped cutting at this same spot...maybe I should take the mutt to said pile and see if he digs something out!
