Maybe it's just me but what is the world's obsession with him? He's seemingly touring Britain's drabbest locations filming a banal sequel to a tired franchise that hasn't been interesting for 20 years.

Yet every other day I see 'Tom Cruise shocks Birmingham by going for a curry'. It's not news, it's not even noteworthy.

	I know that was then, but it could be again..

Fun? Maybe. Good? Not for me.

Last decent film he made was Last Samurai imo.

He's definitely not one of my favourite actors and has made a lot of underwhelming films in the last decade or so. That being said, the Mission Impossible films are over the top romps that aren't made to be taken seriously, and he always delivers in that role.

He banked a lot of credit when he had that great run of roles where he seemed to play someone who was extraordinarily gifted in one specific field in the 80s and 90s. Collateral, which I believe came out not long after the Last Samurai, is a great film though - I'd like to see him in more roles like that.
