Every goal we have conceded has been by players not doing the simple things, just basics, we're not expecting Franco Baresi but just some nous at the back would be a start.
Also, we desperately need Morsy in, Harper and Evans just don't have the minerals to protect the back four or to offer something linking up the forward line, they constantly play sideways.
Such a frustrating day again, especially given the feel good factor around the place pre match.

Harper and Evans were anonymous. Did they do anything?
The defence seem so open and every Bolton attack looked like a goal. The goalie looked very nervous and didn't have a great game.
Bonne, aluko and Burns were the best players.

The coaching set up has looked weak since pre-season and nothing seen on the pitch is changing anyone’s mind here. The only decent coaching at the club that was obvious to fans was when Gill stepped up last season. Was he less capable than the Wigan kitman? |  |

One nil up after 5 minutes and concede within 5
Lucky to get to 2-2 after 45 minutes and leave their best player unmarked to kill it off before half time
Come out second half and concede straight away
As much as our back 4 was all at sea they got zero protection from Evans and Harper who either do want to or are not capable or doing the dirty work required to be a successful team in this division.
I've been massively behind Cook but that was an absolute shower with two weeks to prepare. I hope he's man, enough to admit he needs help and Mcgreal gets involved. | | | |

The annoying thing is, we don't even need to wait for certain players to come back before we can set up differently to get a better result

I was sat about 3 yards from McGreal, surely it would be wise to bring him in at the very least as defensive coach, appreciate he wants bigger things but nothing is happening at the moment for him.

The irony is, with Hladky and Woolfenden there, we looked pretty solid from open play (minus ridiculous mistakes) but shaky at set pieces. Today we looked fine defending set pieces but horrific from open play. | |

You have to be brave and press high, little playing out from the back, that ball over to their flanks is ok as long as we are up the pitch, again today from the start we didn't look to press at all. carry the ball forward where there is space, you can see it sat up high.. | | | |
