PC came across better in iFollow club interview.

Took total responsibility and understood fans frustration.

Spoke as well as he could have.

But it is results that matter.

An internal interview will treat him with soft soap. The press ask awkward questions he may not want to hear.

I really don’t really care what he said. His players did all the talking for him. After all the talk, the bigging up of his new players, the endless excuses, the ‘gelling’, the training etc etc etc as you say, results are everything.

And no, he doesn’t understand the fans frustration at all. He’s earned a good living from football for many years and will no doubt get a job elsewhere when he leaves this one.

Exactly this. He’s getting his tummy tickled by in house media.

I'm not fond of him brushing off last season. If we'd carried on with Lambert, we'd have probably made playoffs. You can't be not scoring in 5 games against relegation candidates.

That’s not fair. The club staff can only go so far and that’s as true at Manchester City as it is at the bottom of League Two. You are looking in the wrong place to apportion blame.

I don’t think Illy’s ire is with the media team here.

Good to hear. Apologies if I misunderstood. Can we still be friends?

I also believe that it is results that matter. Many disagree however. Mick was the devil, Cook is the saviour, black is white, white is black...

Woah! It’s one thing to be frustrated with Cook, but suggesting we would have been anywhere near the playoffs with Lambert at the helm is glue sniffing of the highest order.

But he is responsible. He is only saying what he thinks we want to hear. Managers are judged by results, not interviews. We have had years of" he comes across well in interviews" Results speak louder than words.

Matt Gill on the other hand…

Ifs, buts and maybes but ultimately we were only 5 points off.

On reflection had we stuck with Matt Gill in charge we might have done, but realistically you'd have expected Cook to have done better.

And had we reached the play-offs maybe Evans wouldn't have sold. By all accounts he agreed after the 0-0 Vs Rochdale by which time the play-offs looked beyond us.

I'm not sure it is. As crap as Lambert was, he generally got some results against the lower placed teams.

Ultimately, its just been a cluster fudge since Cook's come in. Lambert had to go and Cook was the right man to bring in but its not going to plan at all.

Officially Lambert left after the Doncaster win at the end of February - at that point we were only two points off the play offs.
