Didn’t look terrible in real time but reaction and lack of replays says everything. Poor lad

Just rewound it to watch the incident. Wish I hadn’t. Horrible to see. Poor lad.

Felt for the lad getting sent off too. As if he didn’t feel bad enough. Wasn’t a red card for me. Just unfortunate.

It didn’t? Did you not notice his ankle pointing the opposite way as he hit the floor! Looked a bad one almost instantaneously I thought

Classy move, there.

My old man eyes can’t keep up, clearly. I did notice the Leeds goalie is 11 years old. How is he allowed to play?

Lovely to see Kloop on the pitch giving his view to the ref before the Red card. But he is German and zany so the media love him.

He was talking in a really animated way with the 4th official for ages too. I understand it was an emotional time but the Leeds guy had been sent off by then so I’m not sure why he was ranting for so long.

He seems quite likeable when things are going well but a bit of a stroppy kid when not going his way.

The Leeds keeper is 21, but to many of us that may as well be 11!

He also links back to another unfortunate injury in that Meslier (the keeper) was born in Lorient, and played for them as an even younger lad, joining as a 9 year old in 2009, the same year that Ulrich le Pen left them for a second time. Hopefully his life after leaving the second time was more fortunate than when he left them the first time to join us, poor lad.

Then he should have received a yellow for entering the field of play without permission

FFS.

He went to check on a kid who’d just suffered a horrendous injury. He was in tears when interviewed afterwards.

The lad must feel like his world is falling apart yet he takes the time to give another patient his shirt.

Dislocated ankle so while incredibly painful, could've been worse. Think it was the same thing Andre Gomes had and he was only out for about 3 months

Which is why the referee didn't, and I agree that was appropriate.

However, I'm responding to the pundits with my reply - don't be complaining about referees being inconsistent next week when you you want common sense this.

I'd be interested to know if his assessment was marked down as a result.

Ah yes, my bad. I remember on the day Lambert said he'd dislocated it but it was subsequently revealed he'd broken it and damaged the ligaments. He'll have sustained some pretty terrible ligament damage in dislocating his ankle but fingers crossed he makes a quick and full recovery.
