Let's all laugh at Norwich. Can they go a whole season without a point?

19 Burnley 5 0 1 4 3 9 -6 1 LLDLL

20 Norwich City 5 0 0 5 2 14 -12 0 LLLLL

They are 3 points from safety having got some of the most difficult fixtures out of the way.

I am going to keep my gob shut for a while yet.

That said, Farkes run of 15 (?) successive defeats in the top flight is an all time record I believe. Definitely one for the honours board.

Let's not get carried away here. We're in September and they have only played 5 League games.

And we're hardly in a position to crow about them!

I have extrapolated their points tally to work out their total after 38 games (38/5 * 0) and it's err... zero points!

Agree with the sentiment here,

I could understand this being the case if both of us were in the top flight, or even the same league,

Yes, let's laugh at their current predicament, but also realise, they're currently the better team in the area as it stands, and that pains me to say

Watford was the 'start' of their season really. 3 points from those first 4 fixtures would have been a result. Joking apart, for a newly promoted team, those opening fixtures were brutal. Usually a promoted team are given a 'glamour' game in the first 2 matches. Unless the prem' are just bored of them and want them done asap?.

We are 2 divisions below them and whilst I believe the good times are ahead for us, right now we are 19th in L1 looking up at teams like Morecambe.

Let’s humble ourselves a bit.

This.

Laughing at Norwich for losing a few premier league games is pretty tinpot when you consider its nearly 2 decades since we even played a premier league match!

I wouldn't say we could laugh too much, given our current position.

However, there's no reason not to revisit an enjoyable thread of the past...

15 consecutive defeats for Farke and Norwich in the premier league. I think McCarthy lost 14 in a row with Sunderland in their run of 20 defeats, so he may hold the record now.

Norwich have been playing the yo-yo game well for a while & another relegation isn't a big deal. For a club without a rich foreign owner prepared to lose £ms, they've done very well, As some have mentioned, we are currently just outside the relegation zone in Division 3.

I'm not sure I would to be honest, hopefully our glass ceiling is a lot higher than theirs now. Might take a few years, but hopefully roles are on the way to being revered once more, unless they get their own big investors in the meantime.

Football rivalry in general is a changing game and I hope we do get promoted soon so that we can restore some kind of equity.

Leave it too long and (bizarrely) the rivalry fades. Old article but interesting=

https://thechriswhitingshow.wordpress.com/2012/08/28/2012-football-rivalry-censu

Remember a few years back we had an away game at Leyton Orient. Away fans were surprised at some of the reaction from the home supporters (older fans who were treating it as a derby game). Going back along way, we used to be strong rivals of Orient. But we'd had decades of not being in the same league, and rivalries had changed.

Although I don't think we can take the piss out of their start I did laugh at half time when they introduced John Barnes and Grant Holt.

A slight difference in the stature of legends of the two clubs!
