Judge pulling no punches here.

Mullet Gtsb Blue badger Bloots N2 Blue ITFC Joe …and the rest. Do you not understand that these forums have massive sway these days? You’ve killed it. We may go on to bigger better things, who knows? Your bitching and whining on here is picked up and has a massive ripple effect. Fking knobs the lot of you. For weeks you’ve been stamping your feet like little girls and it gets picked up when all you needed to do was ride it out for a bit. Pathetic. Cook always comes good, he always has done, talk to any Pompey, Wigan or Chesterfield fan. I’m in Pompey tonight and they’re all shaking their heads. Dkheads the lot of you. Happy to get banned on the back of this. You’re ridiculous. The ramifications are massive which may be placated with money but fk me; learn to kick a ball and know what you’re talking about before you lash out in anger. A massive shame and a massive shame on you. Cook is working hard. What are you doing other than idly pointing fingers and drawing on nonsense stats. Nothing but contempt for you lot and your baseless insights into football when you’ve never even kicked a ball.

in his case, I'm pleased he's not going to the gallows for the simple reason that:

1) coppers inside do not tend to be popular, for some reason

2) Sex offenders inside tend not to be popular.

He's going to spend the rest of his life living with the expectation that round the next corner, the next cellmate, the next meal, the next association time there's going to be someone waiting to do him a serious mischief.

I'll take that any day over an 'easy out'.

Generally though, I'm opposed to the death penalty because it's utter barbarism that achieves nothing other than slakes bloodlust for some people.

I'll let Ian Hislop detail why:

Don’t ever talk to the police ever unless you absolutely have to. Don’t accept being “arrested” when there is just one of them. Film all your interactions with them where you can. Ask them for their collar and police station if they are persistent. We must all learn to protect ourselves from this corrupt paramilitary organisation.
May this latest victim rest in peace.

However, the most dangerous leftists of all may be certain oversocia- lized types who avoid irritating displays of aggressiveness and refrain from advertising their leftism, but work quietly and unobtrusively to promote collectivist values, “enligh- tened” psychological techniques for socializing children, dependence of the individual on the system, and so forth.

All fair points. Plus we're not the Taliban, taking a life is abhorrent and isn't any less so because it's state sponsored.

Commissioner Dick should resign for the reasons Harman states, but even more so because he wasn't just a serving Police Officer (which would be terrible enough) but a serving Firearms Officer, which means he should have been subject to even more stringent psychological evaluation.

The fact that he passed these checks means that they are not fit for purpose. As Head of the Met, the buck stops with the Commissioner.

Her record with firearms police and illegal killings should cause us all to shudder.

Have a look at the respective costs of housing a prisoner for life v the death penalty.

Wow, someone's had a negative experience of the police.

Whilst there are some valid points here - collar number and station being reasonable requests and I don't see any harm in recording interaction, nor in not speaking to them unless you have to.

However you've advocated resisting arrest, something which could go very wrong and may inflame a situation from nothing to something.

Without them what happens?

Because no-one wants to be on the beat with no back up when the sh1t hits the fan there is a culture of inaction which means warning signs are ignored.

Does the firearms psych evaluation cover using a warrant card to rape and murder someone at random?

Being arrested isn’t “nothing”. It seems to me that Couzens “arrested” the poor lady in question. That is speculation on my part.
I would add to my advice; ring someone you know immediately if you are spoken to by a police constable. Don’t wait do it immediately.

Oh, you know, just allegations of sex offences swept under the carpet by a Metropolitan Police Force led by Commissioner Dick that is in no way institutionally corrupt:

He did falsely arrest her. Devastatingly, this was witnessed but the couple assumed he was a pain clothed officer and she had committed a crime.

Heartbreaking case.
