The Baths is a great venue - definitely the better sound for the ones we saw in there than at the Corn Exchange. Thanks for being the festival guide again - was good to see you!

Started with Fraulien in Stephenson Church - they were excellent. Katy J Pearson and TrueMendous in the Baths. then Los Bitchos and Chubby and the Gang back in the church. Finished with Warmdusher at the Corn Exchange I can see The Baths becoming the mid sized venue that Ipswich needs. Its a little out of the town centre so there is very little mixing between the gig goers and the no-sock weekend lads. It reminds me a bit of the Waterfront without the extra bit round the side. Low ceilings help keep it sweaty and intense. Loads of energy going on. The church was a great space - much more like the Colchester Arts Centre. It was good to escape and sit on the steps outside the Buttermarket and still listen. There were a few instances of people trying to get in thinking it was a club. Also, no toilets and dark portaloos round the side of the church was an issue for the female members of our group - they would need to build on the side somehow. Top evening. If they can keep this going, and with the Music in the Park, Ipswich really has something good going on here.
