it really does make you realise how well Accrington have done to not only survive but to be competitive too. Hats off to them although I hoped they get thumped today obviously.

They deserved to be thumped just for listing tractorboys.com before twtd on their list of ITFC unofficial sites. They’ve still got posts from August on their first page ffs

My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.

You'd think that they'd be a lot more respectful of us given that we basically ensured their financial future after Paul Hurst paid well over the odds for Jackson and Donacien.

Give it a coat of paint and it could almost be the equally backward WoTB.

As a by-the-by, why do so clubs have such terrible looking and backward in function forums?

Very harsh. That other thing is genuinely the worst looking thing on the Internet.

They're very polite aren't they... Lots of use of the word please when submitting their guesses.

How many town fans expected to be there? 1,000 or so?
Doesn't leave many home fans.

They're a credit to aspiring clubs with small fan bases; good scouting, coaching and management competing alongside Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday, Portsmouth etc.

Slight derail but inorder to escape from the forum the 90s forgot, I went for a look at Stanley's official site. And then got drawn into their online shop... go on, have a look for yourselves...

Accrington has a population of 36,000, that's the same size as Bury St. Edmunds. Blackburn (5 miles) and Burnley (7 miles) are very close. Manchester United have traditionally drawn a lot of support from East Lancashire too and is only 23 miles away. Getting 2000 regular fans to games isn't bad going. There is little scope to grow that, but conversely if they were back in non-league in a few years they would probably still be pulling 1500.
