Have to hand it to him, Boris's speech was excellent 13:06 - Oct 6 with 6588 viewsThe_Flashing_Smile

For those who support the Tories it ticked every box, had some well-timed jabs at Labour, and was funny in several places. He really is a good speaker if nothing else.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

He’s a conniving liar not fit for any kind of office, but sure.

He may seem assured delivering a prepared speech, but when interviewed he goes into full waffle mode, and rarely addresses the questions put. I guess that is a skill that politicians need to acquire. Never answer the difficult questions.

A deeply unimpressive pile of waffle from a profoundly unimpressive man

He swims in dishonesty as a fish swims in water; he knows nothing else.

All bluster and nonsense, very light on reality or policy

As a Nation, we deserve better than this

It is a fact of profound shame to this country that he has any sort of platform to appear in public life.

It's just utter nonsense. The reason it was developed so quickly is because instead of all the companies competing with each other, they shared their data for the good of humanity, as well as the fact a lot of them were funded with tax payer money as mentioned.

And if better alternatives are not made available before the next General Election he will be voted in for a third time. It is sad, that so many on here do not seem to grasp that fact and just continue day after day with the same rhetoric against the government and all those that voted for it.
Call us/them as many names as you like and accuse us/them of all sorts of misdemeanors, but your rhetoric will count for nowt. We need credible opposition - at the moment it does not exist.

Can anyone actually tell me what levelling up actually will be?

Has anyone set out a plan or agenda to even define what it is, let alone do anything?

It seems to me alot of repeating the same phrase without actually doing much.

And Brexit is still such a huge drag on this country. I see the french are now threatening to cut off electricity supply to the UK over the fishing rights issue. Its just the argument that keeps on giving. I can never forgive Boris for his part in all that.

They don't know. Even the Department of Levelling Up doesn't know.

It took them 7 hours to respond to a request on what it meant when it was first announced

The Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities's 81 word definition of Levelling Up: “Levelling up is about spreading opportunity, boosting living standards and improving public services so that every part of the UK can thrive by empowering local leaders and giving communities more control to shape the places they live in, we are creating more vibrant places to live and work which will give more people a real sense of local pride."

However this is the reality of "Levelling up"

Sounds as well thought through as Camerons "Big Society"

Empowerment is nothing without loads of cash to invest.

Id be embarrassed to stand there and not be able to clearly define what will happen, to who and by when.
