You bunch of muppets generally have a good record for recommendations so who can come up with a decent pub for a spot of lunch in or near to Woodbridge. Nothing fancy, just decent food.

Thanks in advance

sorrel horse shottisham.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

Might not meet the nothing fancy requirement. Just looking for a little light lunch not a gourmet nosh up.

"‘SERIOUSLY GOOD, UNFUSSY FOOD’ - DAILY TELEGRAPH
Fresh, local (wherever possible), seasonal, British food with an Italian influence — unfussy ‘Britalian’ food cooked with care, skill and passion. That’s what The Unruly Pig is all about."

Is what they say about themselves.

The Lunch set menu is very good value for what you get:

but not available Saturday or Sunday.

This is highly recommended. Not sure how near you want to be to Woodbridge. It's about ten miles up the A12 from Wooders.

Honey and Harvey (both locations) are good food and more of a cafe if you aren't after a pub or restaurant.

The Ramholt Arms is a lovely spot, as is the Maybush in Waldringfield.
The Wilfred Bridge in Melton is also underrated imo.

In Woodbridge itself the Anchor is good for pub fare.

I was going to mention the Coach and Horses in Melton - standard pub fare, but done well, and decent beers.

+2 for the Anchor, decent grub, decent location, car park close (not Gatwick) ticks every box.

Red Lion in Woodbridge (not the Martlesham one) is solid. Eaten there a couple of times recently and both times I was left very happy with the choice

The menu does it no favours.

I have mulled over it many times but each time gone somewhere else as it simply does in inspire.
