The new album from WH Lung is dead good, this is a standout for me.

Bloody love Frank Carter. Good call!
There's a new Wet Leg single out, not quite up to the standard of 'Chaise Longue', mind you.

I really like the new Tears For Fears song,
funnily enough Sowing The Seeds Of Love came up in my YT recommends earlier this week and I'd forgotten how good that album was and played it a few times.

Then today I read this really good article earlier today https://www.theguardian.com/music/2021/oct/08/tears-for-fears-reunion-interview
Didn't realise they were back together again.

Still waiting my copy of new WH Lung, vinyl pressings are delayed or something. Looking forward to it though.

Enjoying the new Public Service Broadcasting album with this track being the most obvious

Have we done the Wet Leg thing here yet?

I'm loving this track at the moment. It feels really fresh.

For me it sounds a bit like the B52s and The Flying Lizards.

Edit: Hadn't read FBI's post properly..

Heheh. Mind you, don't watch the interview someone did with them recently and put on YouTube. They're really annoying posh kids.

Chaise Longue is bloody amazing, though.

Had a sneaky feeling they might be, but too late tickets bought for Norwich arts centre in April!

Edit...just watched the interview....they're ok, just annoyingly young!!

Rhian (the lead singer) is my mates daughter. Not from a posh background at all. She’s been through a lot over the years, in and out of bands, solo stuff, dropping out of music completely, many lows and not too many highs, so it’s nice to see her (them) getting a bit of limelight.

Not bang up to date, but Former Things by Lonelady is good. Billy Nomates album: excellent. Again, not new, but Working Mens Clubs album is a good listen. Self Esteems stuff sounds incredible, so can’t wait for her album, which I think is out later this month.

Lonelady and WMC are def top albums this year. Not a massive fan of Self Esteem tho tbh.

This is a bit different, but well in my list for the year so far.

For those of you who like smooth funk/soul/nu soul.

Sault have their latests offering out on vinyl on 15/10. It's called "nine".

One of their main contributors, Cleo Sol, has her second solo album out soon too, though the double vinyl LP is a mind-boggling £42!!!

It's called "mother" and is full of laid back soulful grooves, with very personal lyrics. It's beautifully recorded and sounds lush.

I'm tempted to bite the bullet, but it is so laid back, I'm not sure when I'd listen to it.

Made me think a little bit about the last Lianne La Havas lp.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

I stand corrected - I guess it was the way they came across and, to be honest, it was mainly the other one in one particular interview.

But, as always, I'm happy to admit I was wrong and fair play to them: Chaise Longue is absolutely my record (and video) of the year.

New JOHN album will appeal if you liked the previous albums. Not quite grabbed me but I expect they'll be immense live.

Witch Fever are my discovery of the year so far - saw them supporting Bob Vylan. Doomy thrashy fem punk:

Basically, go see Bob Vylan. The other support was Zand, who I also love. Hard to describe. Angry Enbie Billie Eilish?

As you can probably tell, that video (and the vid for the current single) were very much shot on a budget, at the same time. They had no idea wet leg would take off, hence the lack of budget! Guess you have to be in the right place at the right time sometimes.

Great recommendation.

Brilliant live.

Going to see them in London in a few weeks
