FA Cup draw tomorrow 19:59 - Oct 16 with 1694 views | tractordownsouth | Leaving aside today’s game, who do we want in the first round? I hoped one of the minor positives of being in this league would be a cup match against a tinpot club in the first round but we haven’t had that yet. As well as Sudbury, there are some very small clubs in the hat. Bowers and Pitsea, Horsham and Banbury are safely through, with Pontefract Collieries and Corinthian Casuals taking part in replays. If ourselves, Sunderland, Sheff Wednesday or Portsmouth get one of these clubs surely it will be the telly game? I’m sure we’ll get something boring like Gillingham at home.

FA Cup draw tomorrow on 20:22 - Oct 16 with 1381 views | SitfcB | Definitely don’t want a League 1 team. Definitely don’t want some League 2 teams. Won’t a non-league team, but not Southend. Kings Lynn away anyone?

Kings lynn have a decent size stadium so tickets should be ok. I hope it's not col who as we would play them twice in 3 days.

I'm not sure the local constabulary would be happy with Sudbury away.

I remember going to Layer Road to watch Sudbury play Brentford in the 2nd round in the late '90s. Not sure whether the current rules allow them to ground switch if they got a plum draw at home?

I'm sure I read somewhere but aren't we the only team that has played in every round of the Fa cup including the extra preliminary?

The last thing we want is v a minnow on TV, we've had enough embarrassments. [Post edited 16 Oct 2021 21:21]

I think the FA changed the rules a few years ago so all ties had to be played as they were drawn. I remember Histon played leeds at their home ground.

I went to Pontefract v FC Halifax today. Think Whitton Utd standard ground! This was Pontefract's biggest ever game and crowd and they embarrassed Halifax.
FA Cup draw tomorrow on 22:43 - Oct 16 with 1035 views | ParisBlue | It's the weekend after a long trip to Plymouth. So I reckon it'll be Plymouth away. Or Sunderland away, a fortnight before we have a trip up there.

FA Cup draw tomorrow on 23:18 - Oct 16 with 978 views | Melford | I'd love Sudbury away, the ground backs onto to the old railway line which is now a footpath and you can get a decent view watching from there. There's a couple of trees you can climb that give you a better view of the action than being there at pitch level.

Sadly, the 1st & 2nd rounds stopped being regionalised some years ago. A poor decision IMO as it vastly reduces the likelihood of interesting little local derbies and created some huge trips for little reward. Ipswich Town v Sudbury is an interesting fixture; Ipswich v Wrexham isn't.
