Don’t panic! 16:14 - Oct 17 with 2023 viewsVic

Over the last 7 games we are 5th highest point gainers in the league. I’m not saying it wasn’t disappointing to give away another winning position yesterday - it suggests that we may be turning the corner.

Just a bit of perspective.

If we retain current six match form over the next 34 games we end up with 76pts.

It is unrealistic not to anticipate a dip in form at some point in the season.

it's as unrealistic as not anticipating a rise in form at some point!

But the thing is that people are moaning that current form and points taken are not good enough! All I’m highlighting is that over the last few games we’ve actually done OK.

Sadly I cannot predict what. The next 6 will hold - but we have started an upward trajectory then I don’t expect them to be as bad as some might fear. I totally get that we have to beat the best teams - but if we draw this time and continue to 8mprove then we should beat them next time!

It’s all so uncertain at the moment! We are undoubtedly doing better than we were a month ago, but the 8mprovement needs to continue. We’re about to find out if it does I guess!

People aren’t panicking, they can just see how this is going and how we just keep repeating the same issues. We are miles of it - and the next few games are going to bring more pain

Some are Joe, have you not read the threads on here since yesterday?

You are right that we are miles off it - but things things do seem to be improving. But with respect your certainty of the next few games is feeds into the negative mindset of some.

We can’t cope with any pressure on us, it’s not a great leap to suggest that the better teams are going to fund us easy to play against

The club have gone very quiet lately. The optimism from Ashton and subsequent interviews are no more. Calm before the storm? Who knows.

The silence from the owners is a little unnerving! If we’re disappointed and concerned you can be sure these guys are as well. O’Leary and Ashton are no mugs - unlike Evans they are football people, and know the score.

BlueFish said Ashton agreed with everything he said. Considering he was supposed to be telling Ashton "Cook out" ...

Ashton’s comments in the programme vs Shrewsbury were fairly strong - along lines of Paul and his staff know that it is nowhere near good enough.

We’d be mad to think that alternate plans aren’t being investigated currently

Defensively we're not improving, and the mindset and game management is all over the place.

I desperately want Cook to succeed, but he really needs a winning run now, otherwise its curtains for him.

We all want to club to succeed and at this point that means we want Cook to succeed.

it looks increasing like he has set his tactics for the season and they are not going to change, we will succeed his way, or fail. Not sure Ashton and Co can live with that.
