Another one bites the dust on 11:30 - Oct 21 with 1846 views | Hipsterectomy | It’s interesting that so many managerial appointments near us getting Cook haven’t worked out. Adkins at Charlton who almost got them in the play offs then has done atrociously Cowleys at Pompey who were doing ok and now with 1 win in 12? 13? Darren Moore joined Sheff Wed in March and has been largely disappointing Nigel Pearson was a manager I saw a few wanting on here, he also has a relatively disastrous record at Bristol

Michael Appleton also not pulling up many trees at Lincoln.

Although they had a very good season last year so it might just be reverting to the mean. He's also had health issues hasn't he?

Yes, and to be fair Lincoln have been punching above their weight for a while now so expectations are artificially high.

And they had some brilliant loan signings last year such as Brennan Johnson and Morgan Rogers so it's a new rebuild again.

Not sure where Charlton turn to at this point .... don't see many candidates out there that scream appoint me

Have to say, I was glad to see Morgan Rogers not having another stint there.

Another one bites the dust on 11:55 - Oct 21 with 1638 views | ITFC_Forever | Adkins isn't a good manager - no surprise there. This division is (or has been in the recent past) full of managers who were one-hit wonders who have failed to repeat their success - Adkins, Cotterill, Appleton, Lambert, Cowley etc. And before anyone jumps in, Cook is far from that - he has a proven record at all his previous clubs at this level.

Maybe they'll try and poach Ryan Lowe but I can't see them being successful. Even with Charlton being a bigger club than Plymouth, they aren't going to get promoted this season. Could get Chris Powell back? I can't see many obvious candidates either.

He missed pre season having treatment for cancer so feels as though that has held them back

I think Cotterill's past his sell by date but he's not a one hit wonder, he's had 5 promotions at 3 different clubs. Harsh to call Cowley a 1 hit wonder too, he kept Huddersfield up and while he's underperforming at Portsmouth, their squad isn't top 6 standard.

Jack Ross is probably the exception. Narrowly missed out on promotion with Sunderland and was sacked while they were in the PO places and then has given Hibs their best season for the best part of a couple of decades. If I remember correctly, there was probably more excitement about the link with him than any of the others we've been linked with. In hindsight, he'd certainly have been a better option than Hurst.

Nigel Pearson was one I favoured, he's not far away at Bristol City though. When they were beating Forest going into injury time on Tuesday night they were top 8. Needs to get them winning consistently at home.

Thats who I'd go for but agree think they will struggle to get him given their form and that he seems v happy there.

Would have thought Ryan Lowe would have his sights set higher than Charlton though, if he continues in this form, given the size of the clubs in this division he' competing against, then you could expect him to move up to the championship to a far bigger club.
