I have a sticker on my bike that says DRUG LAWS COST LIVES. I’m just trying to pull you deep down ;)

But yeah, the war on drugs is a drain on cash that could be used to help addiction, fund taxes, make drugs safer, remove the stigma around “natural” drugs for mental health treatment, etc.

The Nixon regime has already admitted they only upped the fear ante as they couldn’t lock people up for being black and/or hippies, so they criminalised recreational use drugs and addiction pandemics that affected minorities harder. Reagan then went after smokeable cheaper cocaine and largely ignored the expensive snortable stuff the rich elites still love to this day.

People (largely black in statistics) are still inside on 15 years from Clinton’s 3 strike laws that could punish having a spliff on you with such heavy penalties. Despite the USA adopting legal use in many states and growing, these sentences still stand up.

Also, this is a very important aspect of cannabis legality too. We should support those who cultivated it and not let big pharma anywhere near, considering the legal drug issues they’ve caused with Oxycontin.

Drugs are fun, and most are a million times better for you than legal drugs like booze.

I wonder what other crimes the police think are a waste of their time.

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Treating drug misuse as a crime rather than a public health issue ends up creating a lot of crime rather than reducing it. Which really seems rather counter productive when you think about it.

using public money to fund your latest sexual conquest,
leaking secret government communications (Darroch),

and many, many more.

Sexual exploitation by Princes.
Unlawful killings by fellow officers.
Threatening witnesses, changing statements, lieing under oath, when it is covering up the above.
Police assaulting pensioners in Stevenage.
