I just stumbled across a Facebook post of underrated football players. It would be interesting to see the players people rate who never seemed to have got the plaudits they deserved.
I'll start with one who I never get seen mentioned and that man is Sami Khedira. World Cup winner, Champions League winner, Bundesliga winner, Seria A winner, La Liga Winner, numerous domestic trophies, and under 21 success. Over 100 games for Real Madrid, 99 games for Juventus and 77 games for a decent Germany side is not to be sniffed at.
Injuries perhaps robbed him of an even better career and that's saying something considering the amount he won.

Mick Stockwell never gets the plaudits he deserves. Was a solid 7/10 every position he was shunted into. Kevin Wilson was another who rarely gets mentioned, but for a while he was on fire for us.
Jamma lost his sheen for me recently when he started spouting antivaxx rubbish on Twitter and called me all the names under the sun for advocating the jab :(

Although they still get mentioned quite a lot as they were fortunate enough to be in, respectively, celebrated Robson and Burley sides. So spare a thought for Paul Mason who always put in a good shift, scored some decisive goals and was not in a bad team under a bad manager (ah, the end of Jon Walters first spell here), just not one of the sides we get dewy eyed about.

Louie Donowa? I thought he was fairly rubbish in his season at Town, in and out of John Duncan's mediocre side. A mate of mine did once see Donowa turn out for Ayr United, by when he was an overweight 33 year old (Donowa, not my mate).

McGoldrick definitely. He was an exceptional talent.
Garvan I think might be a bit of a marmite player. In terms of his actual impact on games, I thought he was OVERrated, although there was obvious raw talent there. He did eventually make the odd Premier League appearance for Palace, but he was binned off to Colchester at an age when he should have been at his peak. Raw talent unfulfilled? Very possibly. Underrated? I really don't think so.

I am amazed to see Sereni on your list. He is one of our most over-rated players ever.
He was a superb reaction saver. In virtually every other aspect of the goalkeeping art he was poor. Poor positionally, unable to organise his defence, very poor dealing with crosses or anything in the air. Had he been a better all-round keeper many of the spectacular saves would have been unnecessary.
